Gems are held items introduced in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version.
There are a total of eighteen gems, each corresponding with a type. All of them can be sold for 100. When held by a Pokémon, it strengthens the move type by 30%. It is consumed after use.

In Generation V, all Gems can be found via Dust Clouds. In Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, each Gem can also be found in one or two locations in the overworld:

- Fighting: Pinwheel Forest

Since Generation VI, only the Normal Gem is legitimately available. The newly introduced Fairy Gem, as well as all other Gems, have become unobtainable items. The Normal Gem can be found in the following ways:
