A PIT (short for Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver, also known as Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), is a police pursuit technique in which the pursuing car causes their target to tilt sideways and spin out of control. Chick Hicks was notorious for using this maneuver on racers such as Lightning McQueen and Lee Revkins, and most famously on The King during the tie-breaker race at the Los Angeles International Speedway.
