The Yips are a small community of people who live on a remote tableland in the far southwestern corner of the Winkie Country, in the Land of Oz. They live apart from the rest of the people of Oz, having no regular contact with the citizens below. There are no paths up or down the bramble-covered slopes of their height. In their elevated isolation, the Yips resemble the Hyups of Mount Munch at the other end of Oz.
After an adventure about a golden dishpan, two of the Yips, the celebrated Frogman and Cayke the cookie cook, became the only members of their group who are well-known to the rest of Oz. (The Lost Princess of Oz)
