The Swords of Darkness each possessed a black short sword that represented represented the team's symbol and determination to make their dream of possessing the actual Swords of Darkness owned by the Black Knight come true.[1]
The Great Tomb of Nazarick's Treasury contained various weapons of short swords.[2]
In the Re-Estize Kingdom, being bestowed a short sword by the king was symbolic in being presented with a medal as a knight or winning the spoils of battle.[3]
In the final negotiations between the Sorcerer Kingdom and the Dwarf Kingdom, the Forgemaster was given a shortsword to use as a reference to make a suit of armor out of a peculiar metal for the Sorcerer King. However the blacksmith found his abilities of processing the metal lacking and so abandoned his post, taking the metal and sword with him.[4]
Orlando Campano once possessed a shortsword, but it ended up getting destroyed in an encounter with Buser.[5]
