They have have been facing invasion from the neighboring Beastman Country in recent years, prompting them to turn to other nations for military support.

Background

The Dragon Kingdom was founded by the Brightness Dragon Lord. Taking a human as a mate, the Dragon Lord created the royal family line of their nation. By doing so, the dragon granted all its descendants access to the long-forgotten power of Wild Magic.

Beastman Invasion

Despite the Kingdom's rich heritage and history, it faces constant harassment from the neighboring Beastman Country, whom raids the Kingdom to use humans as a food source. In recent years, the raids have turned into an all-out invasion, with the Beastmen intending to conquer the Dragon Kingdom followed by other human nations. Currently, the Beastmen have already taken several cities, forcing the Dragon Kingdom to request for military aid from the Slane Theocracy and the Baharuth Empire.

The current ruler, Draudillon Oriculus talks with her advisor about the dire state that the Dragon Kingdom currently finds itself in. Draudillon wonders about their lack of aid, in particular why the Slane Theocracy has yet to send its Sunlight Scripture like it usually does. Her advisor then informs her that a certain magic caster founded a nation and declared war on the Re-Estize Kingdom, but she just dismissed it claiming they should focus on the troubles of their own nation.[2]

When the Sorcerer Kingdom declared war on the Re-Estize Kingdom the seal of several other nations could be found on the official document, including the Dragon Kingdom. The Kingdom's foreign affairs department investigated the document and concluded that it was the genuine seal of the Dragon Kingdom.[3]

The Half Elf God-kin Arc

It has been established that the Dragon Kingdom has opened official diplomatic relations with the Sorcerer Kingdom and have even purchased undead from said nation in order to combat their current war with the beastmen nation.

The Slane Theocracy council have also thought about sending the rescued adventurers from the Re-Estize Kingdom to the Dragon Kingdom in order to help them with their war efforts. After calling into a vote, it was decided they will be allowed to do so and if any of them wished were freely allowed to stay there.[4]

Culture

It seems that the Dragon Kingdom is in a dire financial crisis, due to heavy reliance on foreign military aid to protect their country's borders and the increased expenditure on their military in fending off the invading beastmen.

Religion

Currently, nothing is known regarding the Dragon Kingdom's primary religion. However, the fact that is was founded by Brightness Dragon Lord might imply that they worship Dragon Lords.

Politics

The Dragon Kingdom appears to be an absolute monarchy, with most if not all political power being in the hands of the monarch. In this case, said monarch is a direct descendant of the country's founder, Brightness Dragon Lord, known as the "Dragon King" or "Dragon Queen". The monarch is also accompanied by a personal adviser who seems to serve as the representative of the common people. However, said advisers hold no political power of their own, with ultimate decision-making remaining solely in the hands of the monarch.

Military Strength

Because of constant attacks from the Beastman Country and having to rely on the Slane Theocracy and Baharuth Empire for military aid to fend them off, it can be assumed that Dragon Kingdom's own military strength is in very bad shape. It likely does not have the funds to build up a good military, because they have to pay ransom to the other nations in return for their aid. Starting by the fact that there is a big difference in the basic strength of humans and beastmen, next to the continuous attacks and the big military spend, all those factors make it difficult for the government to increase the power of their armies.

Foreign Relations

The Dragon Kingdom is heavily dependent on other countries for its defense and protection as the country is unable to fund a decent military of its own. Fortunately, all the other human nations recognized that the Dragon Kingdom is the only obstacle that keeps the advancing beastmen at bay. In addition, the Queen personally enlists the local adventurers to support defending the kingdom.

Slane Theocracy

The Dragon Kingdom pays tribute to the Slane Theocracy each year in order for the Theocracy to dispatch troops against the Beastman Country. With financial backing, they would usually lend military aid to the Dragon Kingdom when dealing with the demi-human invasion. However since the Sunlight Scripture who normally would be dispatched to support the Dragon Kingdom was dissolved, the nation was left without aid. SInce then the Dragon Kingdom has turned to the Sorcerer Kingdom for support.

The higher ups of the Theocracy did not believe that the Dragon Kingdom opening diplomatic channels with the Sorcerer Kingdom to be favorable. To avoid being marginalized, the Theocracy assigned additional support to prevent the Dragon Kingdom from totally relying on the enemy nation. To further help them in there war effort, they decided to provide military aid by sending the rescued adventurers to the Dragon Kingdom to provide aid.

Baharuth Empire

The Baharuth Empire is a neighboring state of the Dragon Kingdom, though relations between the two powers seem sour due to its emperor having a personal dislike towards the Kingdom's monarch. Though it does send military aid, albeit with reluctance, not out of charity but as a necessity. In fact, the Dragon Kingdom's existence is what's keeping the Beastman Country from invading the Empire's territory.

Sorcerer Kingdom

When Dragon Queen Draudillon was first informed about the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom, she initially just ignored it. However, at some point, the two nations seem to have formed a proper diplomatic relationship.

After a noble from the Re-Estize Kingdom attacked one of the Sorcerer Kingdom's transports, the Dragon Kingdom approved of their declaration of a war of retribution. The Kingdom's ministers believed that the reason for this was because the Dragon Kingdom sought to curry favor with the Sorcerer Kingdom.

They have started opening diplomatic ties with the nation and have even started to purchase powerful undead from which means that formal economic trading has also started between the two nations. As noted by the Slane Theocracy, the Dragon Kingdom itself is likely using these powerful undead to defend their homeland from the Beastman Country. Worrying the Theocracy as it will cause the Dragon Kingdom to become more and more reliant on the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Re-Estize Kingdom

Although their exact relationship was unknown, the Dragon Kingdom approved of the Sorcerer Kingdom's declaration of war against the Re-Estize Kingdom after the latter's nobles attacked one of their humanitarian aid transports. Although not specified, the Kingdom's ministers hypothesized that the reason why they turned their back on them, despite being a fellow human nation, was because the Sorcerer Kingdom offered more appeal and they no longer saw any benefit in continuing relations with the relatively weak Kingdom.

Beastman Country

Currently the Beastman Country and the Dragon Kingdom is currently in open hostile warfare. It was the kind of situation where the beastmen native to the Beastman Country are attacking, conquering, sacking and abducting the Dragon Kingdom's territory, cities, villages and towns in order to obtain the human populace of the Kingdom. This invasion was initiated by the beastmen who seek to capture humans as a stable food source.

Currently the Dragon Kingdom is having immense difficulty fending off the Beastmen due to the superior racial advantages the Beastmen possess in comparison to their human armies. Because of that situation not in their favor, it forced the Dragon Kingdom to rely on foreign aid from other human nations to fend them off along with Adamantite Adventurers.

So far, the Beastmen Country have successfully conquered three cities of the Dragon Kingdom and are holding numerous flesh banquets where they gorge on their abundant acquired human flesh. In a way, their overall advancement was said to have put the Dragon Kingdom in a dire state.
