Lirian was an elf druid, and one of the members of the Order of the Scribble.

Biography[]

Start of Darkness[]

Lirian investigated wildlife disappearances in the elven forest. She met Soon after he lost Mijung to the Snarl and they concluded that the rift was responsible.

Together they traveled and formed the Order of the Scribble to seal the rifts. Girard Draketooth was perhaps infatuated with her.

After the Order succeeded, Lirian and Dorukan studied for a way to lock them with the Gates.

When the Order was disbanded, Lirian returned to her lands and kept her Gate with the help of the creatures. Yet it seems that she had an affair with Dorukan and together they broke the vows of the members, to never meet each other again.^[4]

Her gate was the first target of Redcloak and Xykon. In a pitched battle they were defeated by Lirian's forces. Lirian personally brought down Xykon, and all non-Elven spellcasters in the area, with a magical virus that permanently robs victims of their ability to cast magic. Redcloak escaped this fate, the Crimson Mantle providing him with immunity to the disease. Showing compassion, Lirian decided not to kill them, and had them imprisoned in a druidic prison.

However Redcloak proposed that Xykon, now completely impotent, undergo the transformation into a Lich, and Redcloak volunteered his Holy Symbol as Xykon's Phylactery, secretly intending to use it as leverage over Xykon.

Four months later, the transformation was complete. Capable of casting spells again, Xykon broke out and fought Lirian, while Redcloak assaulted the gate again. Xykon in his Lich form was far more formidable than before, and he easily defeated Lirian, but not before she accidentally revealed the existence of the other gates. To torture her further, he bound her soul into a gem and zombified her body. Later he trapped Dorukan in the same gem.

Powers and Abilities[]

• Epic Druid: Lirian was a high level druid. She was capable of animating the forest trees to protect the gate. She also created a magical virus that robs of caster of its spellcasting abilities.

Trivia[]

While most elves in OOTS have ambiguous gender, Lirian and Veldrina are both clearly female.
