Shokugeki no Sanji is the volume containing the set of spinoff one-shots created by Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma creators Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki.

It's an immense honor to be able to contribute to a work as prestigious as One Piece. Even if the power of the original series and the quality of Yuto Tsukuda's storyboards outclassed me for every chapter, I forced myself to create the best drawings I could!

Chapters[]

  • 1. The Dawn of Adventure Approaches (冒険の夜明けは迫る, Bōken no Yoake wa Semaru?): After the Baratie's cooking is insulted by a food critic, Sanji prepares a special meal for her, shocking her with its amazing taste.
  • 2. Sanji, Banquet Assistant (サンジ、助太刀の宴, Sanji, Sukedachi no Utage?): The Straw Hat Pirates find Ruibe stranded in the ocean, and after saving him, discover that he was trying to catch a legendary fish for his daughter's wedding. Sanji offers to prepare the notoriously difficult fish, and after numerous failed attempts, succeeds at making a delicious dish.
  • 3. A Beautiful Dessert (ビューティフル・デザート, Byūtifuru Dezāto?): While celebrating the defeat of Crocodile, the Straw Hats overwhelm Terracotta and her cooks, causing them to panic. Sanji offers to help prepare more food, shocking them with his efficiency and love of cooking. When the Straw Hats prepare to leave the Arabasta Kingdom, he receives a copy of the palace's secret cookbook as thanks.
  • 4. Survival! A Peach-Colored Kingdom (生き抜け!!桃色の王国, Ikinuke! ! Momoiro no Ōōkoku?): While running from the okama on Momoiro Island, Sanji prepares a dish for Ivankov, shocking him with its flavor. He later defeats Caroline, obtaining his first vital recipe, and prepares it for the okama in celebration.
  • 5. Crooked Cooks, Soba Salvation (庖丁無頼蕎麦遣, Hōchō Burai Soba-yarai?): While preparing to open a soba kiosk in the Flower Capital, Sanji notices that another kiosk serves food of inferior quality to the poorest customers. In response, Sanji challenges the kiosk's owner to a soba cooking contest, which he wins several days later.
  • 6. Second in Command (副料理長, Fuku Ryōrichō?): As a child, Sanji is personally asked to cook a meal for one of the Baratie's customers. Despite being sabotaged by the other cooks, he makes a dish that impresses the customer and Zeff.
  • Bonus. A Battle for Fish-Man Island Ends! A Return to Ryugu Palace (?): Sanji decides to cook with Fish-Man Island ingredients, but is distracted by mermaids.

Bonus Chapter[]

While eating a meal, Sanji finds out about the various high-end ingredients available on Fish-Man Island, including juicy Sea King meat, a rich and salty jelly sauce, a sea-flavored sea hash, and a rolled cake. He decides to cook with them, and begins asking directions to the nearest kitchen. However, the mermaids he's with don't want him to leave, and begin asking him to stay. He manages to push through his temptations and begins to leave, but upon seeing Shirahoshi, is turned into stone and misses his chance to cook.

Trivia[]

  • According to an interview with Yūto Tsukuda in 2019, Eiichiro Oda has expressed interest in an anime adaptation of Shokugeki no Sanji.[2]
