Short Summary[]

The Straw Hat Pirates visit Natsuyasumi Island, a vacation island, intent on finally relaxing. They participate in multiple summer activies alongside Heracles and Wadatsumi, also visiting the island.

The chapter opens with Usopp and Chopper introducing the vacation concept and encouraging the reader to relax.

On Natsuyasumi Island, Nami warns the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates not to let down their guard during their vacation, as the other members ignore her. After she hits the men and makes them listen, the crew begin their summer activities.

They begin by swimming. As Luffy goes down a giant water slide into the ocean, Sanji offers the two girls bikinis made of single strings that he supposedly bought for 200,000, which they decline. They decide to swim in their own bikinis as Sanji and Brook watch from the shore, before Sanji jumps into the ocean himself. Franky then enables Franky Jet Ski (フランキー ジェットスキー, Furanki Jettosukī^?), powered by his Coup de Boo, which the Devil Fruit users use to enjoy the ocean.

After swimming, the Straw Hats go bug hunting. Usopp teaches them how to set traps, but after Chopper catches Kabu and Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro catch Heracles, they stop the activity early.

The next activity is watermelon splitting, now joined by Heracles, who was also on vacation. As Heracles brought a giant watermelon, they decide to cut up and eat it. However, Zoro and Sanji argue over who should do it, as the swordsman and cook respectively; during their arguing, Brook ultimately cuts it, and Luffy eats half before they have time to split the portions. The rest of the group then finish the watermelon before moving to the next activity.

Next is beach volleyball, so they split into two groups: Team Lusaucho (チーム ルサウーチョ, Chīmu Rusaūcho^?), made up of Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper, and Team Zonafubu (チーム ゾナフーブ, Chīmu Zonafūbu^?), made up of Zoro, Nami, Franky, and Brook. Robin acts as the judge. They agree to play to a single point, where the losers have to prepare dinner. After a long match, in which both teams use their various techniques, Team Zonafubu ultimately win, with Brook having put Luffy to sleep and Nami distracting Sanji.

As their punishment, Team Lusaucho go find something to eat, and are joined by Heracles. He informs them of rumours that a giant squid has landed on the island, so Luffy decides he wants to eat grilled squid, right before they run into King. After being hit by his Ikasmin Attack, Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp defeat him, resolving to have the grilled squid Luffy wanted. As Sanji ponders how to count such a massive creature, Luffy notices that the nearby mountain is empty, with an iron grid covering the top, leading to confusion among the group.

While investigating the mountain, Luffy notices another hill, which he discovers is bouncy. Him, Usopp, and Chopper begin bouncing on it, awakening Wadatsumi, who's stomach was the hill. After calming down, he explains that the supposed "mountain" was actually his barbecue, and the water slide was actually an open pipe to transport noodles. Upon noticing that the pirates defeated King, he thanks them for clearing the island, and agrees to let them use his barbecue to grill him.

With the grilling begun, they transition into the fifth activity, barbecuing. They barbecue various giant foods along with parts of King and throw a party before moving onto the next activity.

The sixth activity is Kimodameshi, tests of courage, again splitting into two groups. The group doing the test is made up of Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Chopper, while the test makers are Luffy, Sanji, Robin, Franky, and Brook. The test makers come up with the yōkai "Perverted Kappa Sanji" (エロガッパサンジ, Erokappa Sanji^?), "Hitodama Brook (人魂ブルック, Hitodama Burukku^?), [[Wikipedia:Rokurokubi Rufi:"Rokurokubi Luffy"|ろくろ首ルフィ]], "Homunculus Franky" (人造人間（じんぞうにんげん）フランキー, Jinzō Ningen Furanki^?), and "Oiwa-san Robin" (お岩さんロビン, Oiwa-san Robin^?). These successfully scare three of those doing the test, though Zoro ends up lost in the forest and misses it all.

They then move on to the seventh activity, a fireworks show. Franky sets up three cannons with fireworks, and doesn't notice as Zoro, still lost from the test of courage, wanders into one and falls asleep. He then sets them off, and everyone on the island watches the show. Following its conclusion, they notice Zoro returning, completely burned.

Finally, the Straw Hats return to the Thousand Sunny to begin the final activity, their homework, supervised by Nami and Robin.
