Wii Chess (World Chess in Japan) is a Wii video game published by Nintendo and developed by Lancarse. It was initially released on the Wii in Europe, and eight months later on the Japanese WiiWare service.
The game was never released in North America or Australia, making it the only Wii game in the series to not be released in those continents. It was also the first game in the Wii series to not have any playable Mii characters.
This game features the Wi-Fi Connection for both WiiWare and Wii retail versions.
The game was the last of three board games released in Japan under the title Tsūshin Taikyoku. The other two were Tsūshin Taikyoku: Hayasashi Shōgi Sandan (shogi), and Tsūshin Taikyoku: Igo Dōjō 2700-mon (go).
