Robert Lawrence Stine (born October 8, 1943), best known as R. L. Stine, sometimes credited as Jovial Bob Stine and Eric Affabee, is an American novelist and screenwriter. He is the author of hundreds of horror fiction novels, most notably the books in the Goosebumps series.
For Nickelodeon, Stine was the head writer for the children's television series Eureeka's Castle, which premiered as part of the Nick Jr. programming block in 1989. He developed most of the characters for the show. Stine was also the first editor of Nickelodeon Magazine.[1]
