Jeremy Fitzgerald is the unseen main protagonist of the 2014 indie horror game Five Nights at Freddy's 2, as well as its tie-in novel Five Nights at Freddy's Survival Logbook. He takes on the role of a night guard at the newly reopened Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where he must survive the night shift while dealing with the animatronic characters that roam the establishment.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2[]
Jeremy is hired as a night guard and told by Ralph that the previous guard was moved to the day shift due to animatronics trying to enter the office. During his shifts, Jeremy realizes the animatronics were tampered with, likely by William Afton, leading to the restaurant's closure. He's informed that he may switch to the day shift once the position opens up.
On Night 6, Ralph informs Jeremy of a day shift assignment monitoring animatronics during a birthday party. After this night, Jeremy receives an overtime check of $20.10 and a newsletter announcing the restaurant's closure. Though we don't see much of Jeremy, he appears highly skilled at fending off animatronics during his shifts.
Working Day Shift[]
Jeremy Fitzgerald successfully completes his last night shift, during which he has grown accustomed to dealing with the animatronics' unsettling behaviors. Following his final night on the job, he receives his overtime check of $20.10, as per the game's story.
Jeremy's transition to the day shift could be seen as a fresh start after surviving several nights of animatronic threats. On his first day-shift, he is assigned the task of monitoring the animatronics during a child's birthday party. This would mean that Jeremy would have to keep a close eye on the animatronics' behavior to ensure they don't malfunction or cause harm during the event.
As the day progresses, Jeremy finds himself in a more relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, surrounded by children and the entertaining animatronics. This contrast to his previous night shifts could serve as a welcome change.
However, after his first day shift, Jeremy recounts his paranoia at possibly being followed home from work (see above quote).
Trivia[]
- There is speculation that Jeremy Fitzgerald could be the victim of the Bite of '87, but this theory conflicts with some game clues. In the Survival Logbook, there's a passage from Jeremy, where he mentions switching from the night shift to the day shift unharmed.
- In Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, the name Jeremy appears in the Lorekeeper ending, but it's more likely related to a missing child than Jeremy Fitzgerald. Some theorists suggest that Jeremy Fitzgerald might be Michael Afton using an alias, but there isn't strong evidence for this idea.
- It is speculated that along with being the Bite of ‘87 victim, he is also Cassie’s Dad, the Bonnie Bully, Help Wanted Jeremy, and the Help Wanted 2 Protagonist, if confirmed he would be no longer a neutral character and would be an outright hero instead.
- On top of this, it is theorized that he is M.X.E.S, the entity keeping the Mimic trapped, if confirmed this would make him more of a hero as well.
