~ Merraid Oarburgh |
Merraid Oarburgh is the secondary antagonist of the prequel manga series Akame Ga Kill! Zero.
She is an assassin and the leader of the Oarburgh Clan. She goes around trying to make all girls see "the light" by molesting and raping them, eventually converting them into lesbians.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Ever since she was a kid, she has been going around trying to get other girls to see "the light" and convert them into lesbians, by molesting and raping them. One of her earliest attempts of doing this was when she fought and fell in love with Esdeath, trying to molest her so she would reciprocate the feelings. Unfortunately for her, Esdeath attempted to kill Merraid, only being able to escape by using a smoke bomb.
- She also shows no mercy kills any man she sees as a threat, believing them to be in the way of girls seeing "the light".
- When she, Gilberda and Chelsea went to spy on GIn and Natalia, they encountered a random girl and her boyfriend. Later on, she rapes the girl, and converts her into a lesbian, before getting Gilberda and Chelsea involved in the act as well.
- She kills Gin in a battle and attempts to kill Gozuki, but he is able to flee from the battle.
- She kidnapped Akame and her sister Kurome, when trying to learn about them and teach them about the evils of the Empire. Despite this, she is no different from some of the worst members of the Empire, like Syura, Enshin, Cosmina and Champ.
- She confiscated Kurome's medication, which causes her to nearly die. She gave Akame the medication and made her give it to Kurome mouth-to-mouth. While she claims to Akame this had to be done so Kurome would survive, it's revealed later on they didn't need to give the medicine through mouth-to-mouth at all, and that Merraid just wanted to see "something wonderful".
- When she and Gilberda find Empire spies, she gets Gilberda to deal with the man while she "takes care" of the girl, forcibly giving her oral to both find out information and to convert the girl into a lesbian.
- While training Akame, she forcibly kissed and molested her, to try and make Akame see "the light".
- While Akame distracts the clan so Kurome can get the insect cure for the insect eggs Merraid had planted inside the two, it's implied that Merraid and her girls had all sexually assaulted Akame which would make her even worse.
- While Merraid shows massive misandrism and hatred and disgust towards men yet a delusional love for women, her actions towards women are the same if not worse than the very crimes she sees in men. Making her a hypocrite.
- While Akame does seem to feel remorseful for her after her death, the narrative itself doesn't give Merraid any sympathy.
- Despite the high heinous standards of the manga and having to compete with the likes of Esdeath and the Wild Hunt, Merraid still stands out both due to her personal villainy towards Akame and the fact that her sexual crimes turn girls into sex deviants like her, with some of them taking part in the sexual crimes themselves.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While her crimes towards women are absolutely awful, she does actually show a genuine albeit twisted care for the girls she has brainwashed, such as her clan, Akame and even Esdeath. After the rapes, she is genuinely nice and tries to treat them well. Before her death, she says that she truly did love Akame, however, this is mainly because of a major part of it being a perverted lust, making this a very minor prevention.
