King Moai is a minor antagonist in Dragon Ball Z. He is the king of the Arlians who wiped out most of the life on his planet after usurping that position from the former leader, Atla.
He was voiced by Banjō Ginga in the Japanese version, the late French Tickner in the Ocean Group dub and Kent Williams in the Funimation dub.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- During the marriage of King Atla and Lemlia, Moai lead a rebellion in which he overthrew King Atla, forced Lemlia to become his wife and then killed nearly every Arlian on his planet and threw some of them into the dungeon
- He has his guards fight each other and the guard who loses gets cannibalized by Yetti, a massive Arlian.
- This is shown onscreen in a scene where after Greger loses to Lesoy, he orders the former to be dragged off and executed by Yetti.
- When he meets Vegeta and Nappa, he has them imprisoned.
- When Vegeta and Nappa escape imprisonment, Moai cowardly offered to give them anything they want if they kill his champion Arlian, Lesoy.
- When they actually do kill Lesoy, he backs out on that deal and has the rest of his guards and Yetti try to kill the duo.
- Despite the astronomical heinous standards of the Dragon Ball franchise, he still passes the general standards due to committing genocide on his own race and turning the planet into a barren wasteland. He also has lower resources than many of the other Dragon Ball villains.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Although he passes the general standards, he still fails the in-series Heinous Standards of the Dragon Ball series due to genocide and mass murder being common in this universe.
