Orchis is the secondary antagonist of Watership Down 2018.

He is one of the Efrafan guards who worked for Woundwort and just like Woundwort, is a sadistic, cold-blooded monarch who enjoys the way Efrafa works and enjoys being cruel to slaves.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • For quite a long time he has kept numerous rabbits, mainly does as slaves at Efrafa and has always been cruel to them, punishing them harshly and enforcing really strict rules on them.
  • He kidnapped Holly, BlackBerry and Bluebelle and takes them to Efrafa and was going to keep them as slaves too.
  • He forces Nettle to spy on Hyzenthlay and reveal to him Hyzenthlays plans to escape Efrafa. He threatened to harm the other rabbits if she didn’t do it. So Nettle didn’t want to do it but she felt she had to and this caused her to feel extreme remorse.
  • He literally blames Hyzenthlay and Holly for his brother Vervain being killed by a train even though it was entirely Vervains fault, it was purely in self defence and Vervain deserved it.
  • He was going to have Hyzenthlay executed and it probably would’ve happened if she hadn’t escaped.
  • He attempted to help destroy Watership Down and kill every rabbit living there.
  • While a lot of his actions were done under Woundworts orders, he was sadistic and enjoyed doing his horrible actions, showing no hesitance or remorse and still probably would have done them without Woundwort, therefore he is not a villain by proxy.
  • While he is an animal, he is definitely sapient enough to tell the difference between right and wrong and chooses evil anyway.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He was upset and angry over his brother's death, showing that he cared about him.
