Spells「術, Jutsu; lit. "Techniques"」 are magical operations that can be triggered either inherently or by Incantation Orbs. A spell can have a variety of different effects based entirely on what kind of spell it is, and the overall strength and magic power of the person casting them.
Inherent Spells[]
These spells are mostly invoked unassisted, although certain users require specific chants.

殲滅の光 , Ekusutāmineito Rei; lit. "Light of Annihilation"」: A spell where the caster fires a disintegration beam, incinerating everything in the line of fire.[1]- Exterminate Maximum Ray「

闇 の亡霊群 , Yami no Bōreigun ; lit "Dark Ghost Horde"」: A spell that summons a horde of spectral entities.[4]
Elemental[]
- Destroy Four Elements「
破壊の四大元素 , Desutoroi Fō Eremento; lit. "Four Elements of Destruction"」: A formidable spell where four elements (specifically; water, earth, fire and air) are summoned and fused into a single, devastating energy attack that is fired at the enemy.[5] The attack creates a large explosion upon impact.[6]- Bounce Four Elements「
はね回る四大元素 , Baunzu Fō Erementsu」: A spell that creates a sphere of condensed essences of fire, water, earth, and wind. The sphere bounces off any surface and unleashes elemental attacks after enough hits.[7]

衝撃の尾針 , Shokku Sutingā; lit. "Shocking Tail Needle"」: A spell with which the caster throws a lightning bolt at the enemy causing a great impact on his body.[8] - Fire Storm「ファイアストーム, Faia Sutōmu」: A spell that allows the caster to attack the opponent with a powerful blast of fire.[9]

終わりなき渦 , Endoresu Wāru; lit. "Endless Vhirlpool"」: A spell with which the caster creates a vortex of wind with an incredible destructive power, sucking their objectives towards its center. [12] - Blaze Storm「ブレイズストーム, Bureizu Sutōmu」: A spell where the user catches their opponent inside a miniature twister.[13]
- Freeze Coffin「
凍結棺 , Furīzu Kofin」: By performing a hand sign and tracing a rectangle through the air with her fingers, the caster is able to instantaneously freeze their opponent. The target is rendered immobile while frozen.[14] - Icicle Castle「
氷柱の城 , Aishikuru Kyassuru」: A spell with which the caster traps their targets inside huge pillars of ice.[15] - Ice Meteo「アイスメテオ, Aisu Meteo」: A spell which launches a rain of ice shards over the opponent.[16]

波竜 , Uēbu Doragon」: A spell that allows the caster to call many dragons made of water.[17] - Aqua Dress「
水の衣 , Akua Doresu; lit. "Water Clothing"」: A spell that creates clothes made of water. By refracting the light in the water, the caster is able to hide the most "important" parts.[18] - Double Impact「
二重衝破 , Daburu Inpakuto」: A mixed spell, where upon performing a sequence of hand gestures, the user unleashes a wave of force upon their enemies that combines the magical attributes of the four elements and their associated elements[19], and then set off a second, more powerful blast with a snap of their fingers that contains a tempering magic that decreases the opponent's resilience to the element they're weakest against. - Purgatory Venom「
煉獄の毒 , Pāgetorii Benomu; lit. "Poison of Purgatory"」: A spell that creates a small orb with deadly poisonous properties.[20] - Buster Ice「
氷塊撃 , Basutā Aisu; lit. "Ice Chunk Strike"」: A spell that throws a huge chunk of ice at the opponent.[21] - Dark Destroy「
黒葬 , Dāku Desutoroi; lit. "Black Funeral"」: A spell that gathers and unleashes black lightning.[22] - Spiral Hail「
螺旋雹弾 , Supairaru Heiru」: A spell that creates a vortex of large pieces of hail ice.[23] - Thunderball「
雷球 , Sandābōru」: A spell that creates a sphere of lightning. The sphere is able to turn invisible to create a sort of trap for the opponent.[24]
Negation[]
- Dark Curses Immunity: This negation spell grants immunity to any type of dark curses, including even the Demon King's Commandments. It was used on Merlin and all the Four Archangels.
- Manipulation Immunity: This negation spell grants immunity to the possession and brainwashing powers, including those of the Goddess Clan. It was used on Merlin and the Ten Commandments.

絶対強制解除 , Abusoryūto Kyanseru; lit. "Absolute Forced Release"」: By placing their hands over a spell, the caster is able to completely erase it from existence.[25] However, if the particularity of the magic is being sufficiently powerful, it may be difficult to erase completely, instead being temporarily suspended.[26]- Magic Cancel「
魔力解除 , Majikku Kyanseru; lit. "Magic Release"」: A technique that allows the caster to cancel any magic that has been cast on an individual. Merlin typically uses it to cancel the effects of magical items in her own collection.[27]

完璧なる立方体 , Pāfekuto Kyūbu」: A spell that denies entry to anyone but the caster.[28] Originating from the demon world,[29] the spell surrounds a specified area and reflects all attacks, whether strong or weak, back at the opponent.[30] - Magic Seal「
魔力封じ , Majikku Shīru」: A spell that seals away the magic of the target.[31] - Four Element - Zero Barrier「
四大元素 無効の盾 , Fō Eremento Zero Baria; lit. "Shield that Nullifies the Four Elements"」: A large barrier that nullifies any elemental attack. [32] - Magic Shield「
魔力の盾 , Majikku Shīrudo」: A spell that creates a protective barrier around the user.[35] - Dragon Style「
輝く竜鱗 , Doragon Sutairu; lit. "Shining Dragon Scale"」: A spell that creates a shield in the shape of dragon scales around the user.[36]

魔力増幅 , Pawā Anpurifai; lit. "Magic Amplification"」: A spell that allows the caster to amplify the magic of their allies, making their attacks considerably more powerful.[37][38]- Power Limit Break「
魔力限界突破 , Pawā Rimitto Bureiku; lit. "Breaking the Magic Limit"」: This version rises the target's magic power beyond their limits. It causes a great pressure in the body, as Merlin says that they must sleep for a whole week after receiving it.[39] - Power Full Convertion「
全魔力合体 , Pawā Furu Konbājon; lit. "Full Magical Power Combined"」: A spell that combine various magical attacks into a single powerful attack.[40]

瞬 間 移 動 , Shunkan Idō; lit. "Teleportation"」: High-level teleportation magic that allows the caster to appear and disappear at precise locations and teleport groups of people instantaneously.[41] The spell effect radius of Merlin's teleportation is several miles wide,[42] and her teleportation magic was shown to be much faster than that of the Liones Kingdom's greatest magician.[43]- Apport「
物体転移 , Apōto; lit. "Object Transfert"」: A subsidiary teleportation technique that allows the caster to summon various objects, such as clothes and weapons, to themselves and their allies.[44]

曲がる空間 , Bendo Rūmu; lit. "Bending Space"」: The caster traces their hand through the air in a distinct circular motion, changing the trajectory of an attack.[45] - Chrono Coffin「
時の棺 , Kurono Kofin; lit. "Coffin of Time"」: A forbidden art that stops time, in a certain area.[46] Is an extremely complex spell, even Merlin took several minutes to complete it, ending exhausted afterwards. - Super Slow「
超減速 , Sūpā Surō; lit. "Super Deceleration"」: After the user touches each one of their targets, these will have their movements extremely slowed down.[47] - Tsuibi Fuju「
追 尾 付 呪 , Tsuibi Fuju; lit "Tracer Enchant"」: A spell to make attacks target a specific target. [48] - Kioku no Kairo「
記 憶 の回廊 , Kioku no Kairō; lit. "Gallery of Memories"」: A spell that reproduces memories embedded in a place, showing detailed projections of past events.[49]
Enchantments[]
- Enchantment: Resist Fire「
付呪 炎の耐性 , Enchanto: "Rejisuto Faiya"; lit. "Enchantment: Fire Resistance"」: The damage received by the caster from fire-attribute attacks is greatly reduced. - Enchantment: Resist Wind「
付呪 風の耐性 , Enchanto: "Rejisuto Windo"; lit. "Enchantment: Wind Resistance"」: The damage received by the caster from wind-attribute attacks is greatly reduced. - Enchantment: Hard Protection「
付呪 防壁膜 , Enchanto: "Hādo Purotekushon; lit. "Enchantment: Barrier Membrane"」: A protective barrier is formed around the caster, capable of fending off physical attacks. - Enchantment: Little Wing「
付呪 ・小さな翼 , Enchanto - Ritoru Uingu; lit. "Enchantment: Small Wings"」: Gives the target a pair of wings on the back, allowing them to fly.[50]
Curses[]
- Immortality「
永遠 の生 , Eien no Sei; lit. "Eternal Life"」: A curse that revives the victim without fail regardless of the means of death, including suicide or getting killed, no matter how many times they die. It additionally prevents the victim from dying of old age. In exchange for the infinite number of revivals, the victim's emotions are slowly drained into the Purgatory. The only way to dispel the curse is to get a power superior or equal to the King himself or the Supreme Deity. The only known victim of the curse is Meliodas who was cursed by the Supreme Deity.[51] - Perpetual Reincarnation「
永劫 の輪 廻 , Eigō no Rinne; lit. "Eternal Reincarnation"」: A durable curse that causes the victim to reincarnate when they die and forget everything they did in their past lives. If the victim is given enough information regarding their true identity, their original race's traits and fragments of their memories will slowly come back. Once all their memories are restored, the victim will unavoidably die in three days in some way. If used on a Goddess, it causes them to reincarnate as a Druid who retains some latent form of his original power. The only way to dispel the curse is to get a power superior or equal to the King himself or the Supreme Deity. The only known victim is the Goddess Elizabeth who was cursed by the Demon King.[52] - Curse Engage「
呪いの婚約 , Kāsu Engēji; lit. "Cursed Engagement"」: A spell with which the caster creates a contract between two beings to control one of them. By placing a ring on the hand of the victim, this is subject to the spell that causes excruciating pain in their body every time they try to use magic against his " oath keeper" or is the "keeper" says the incantation "Remada". Each time the spell is used, the person affected will be covered by brands that are becoming larger and once these brands cover their entire body, the affected person will die. The victim is unable to ever remove the ring. The only known victim is Vivian who was cursed by Merlin, and her "oath keeper" was Gilthunder. [53] - Absolute Order「
絶対強制命令 , Abusoryūto Ōdā; lit. "Absolute Compulsion Order"」: The caster draws a cursed seal on his hand and points it in the direction of his opponent. The opponent must then follow any order the caster gives them where disobedience will result in the death of the target.[54] - Craving Curse「乾きの呪い, Kawaki no Noroi」: By shaking the hand of a willing person, the user can grant them the power to grow stronger from the amount of emotional pain they are in. This can lead to the victim becoming an emotionally unstable monster. The curse cannot be lifted until the victim's most fervent wish is granted.[55]

落命怨魄呪 , Rakumei Enpaku-ju; lit. "Deadly Soul-Cursing Grudge"」: A suicide curse in which the user bathes the target in their blood and sacrifices their soul to seal the target's power. [56]
Race-based[]
Some spells are exclusive to members of specific races. However, they still could be teached to other races.
Incantation Orb[]
In the case of Incantation Orbs, a different spell is activated by different orbs that are characterized by distinctive symbols representing the spells.
