Introduction |
Belte「ベルテ」 is one of King and Diane's children, being the third child and prince of the Fairy Realm.
Appearance[]
Belte bears a strong resemblance to King, having orange hair that reaches his chin with bangs, amber eyes, thin eyebrows, pointy ears and a small pair of wings.
His clothes are very reminiscent of the clothes King wears. Belte wears a white shirt with long sleeves and a high collar, a dark green vest, white pants and short boots.
Personality[]
Belte is a calm, relaxed and rather carefree boy, often shown with his arms around his head and eating fruit. He hates and is self-conscious about the fact that he is the only one among their family to have long ears. Belte also knows how to be particularly teasing, like when he makes fun of his little sisters' gluttony and their love of meat.
But despite his relaxed nature, Belte does not hesitate to fight to protect those he loves, whether against a knight much stronger than him or even his own older brother.
History[]
Belte is the third-born child of King and Diane, inheriting more of his father's Fairy blood than of his mother's Giant blood.
Plot[]
Fairy Realm arc[]
Belte is present with the rest of his family during the meeting with Nasiens.
When lunch time arrives, Diane asks what her children would like to eat and, upon hearing Zana and Zilian's preferences, Belte responds that he prefers to eat fruit. While Belte and her sisters are having lunch, he teases them by saying that they will gain weight if they eat meat, which greatly irritates his sister Zana. At some point, Phao told him and their siblings about Tioreh's conversation with Diane about Nasiens being their biological sibling.
Later, when King and Diane were arguing about Nasiens being their biological child, Belte and his siblings show up and discover that everything Phao had said was actually true, to which Belte jokes that it is no wonder his father was so close to a "human".
Then, when King confronts Mertyl to save Nasiens and Tioreh, Belte, his mother and his siblings go to help them. Upon seeing the state in which Mertyl was and Nasiens injured on the ground, Belte and his siblings were quite shocked by the situation. While King goes after Kilbeggan and Sixtus goes after the Chaos Knights, Belte and his sisters fight together to contain Mertyl, whereupon he uses the Bind Ivy technique to stop him, but to no avail. Then Diane goes in front of her children and tells them to back off and that stopping Mertyl is a mother's job. After Diane manages to calm Mertyl down, Belte is relieved that his brother is back to normal.
Afterwards, Mertyl begins to feel unwell due to the atmosphere of the Fairy Realm, so Belte and his siblings quickly go to help him. Upon seeing that Nasiens and Tioreh were still trapped in the Pollen Garden, Belte says that if the barrier completely prevents enemies from entering, it also prevents those inside from leaving. Next, Diane says she needs to find King to get more pills for Mertyl and free the Pollen Garden that was holding Nasiens and Tioreh, so Belte says that King chased Kilbeggan to the Garden of Euphorbia, while Sixtus went after the guys in white hoods towards the throne. So, Diane sends her children to help Sixtus while she searches for King, to which they obey and go after him. As they search for Sixtus, Belte says that Diane is such a worrywart, to which Zilian responds that is how mothers act.
Belte and his siblings arrive at the throne and see Sixtus injured and Worreldane with the Drug of Yore. While Zana punches the enemy with an earth golem, Belte uses his powers to get the Drug of Yore back. Then, Belte ties the enemy with her powers, but Worreldane uses her powers and wounds Belte with his own ability. Afterwards, Zana tries to strike her with her earth golem, but Worreldane easily destroys it with a power beam and injures Zana in the process, leaving her with a large hole in her chest. Seeing this, Zilian and Phao try to attack Worreldane together, but she uses her helmet to cut their bellies, managing to defeat all the siblings and take the Drug of Yore again. A little later, King and Diane approach the place where their children are, so Diane throws King onto the throne. When he finally gets there, Zana questions if he is Sixtus, but Zilian and Belte contradict her by saying he was their father.
After Worreldane is defeated, Nasiens heals the injuries of Belte and his family. After seeing Nasiens being able to control the Spirit Spear, Sixtus considers that Sacred Tree must had chose them to be the fourth Fairy King, and that Nasiens is their older sibling after all. Upon hearing this, Nasiens says that their older brother has to be Mertyl, and that themself have their own family, making everyone very sad. Moments later, while Nasiens was suggesting to talk to Hendrickson about how to break King's curse, they is pierced by Worreldane's magic beam, who somehow survived the previous attack. Then, Worreldane shoots many Shock Stinger beams, piercing Belte and the rest of his family. However, when Percival comes back to life, he heals the injuries of Belte and the rest of his family.
After Percival and King defeat Worreldane, it is time for Nasiens and Percival to leave for Britannia. Then Mertyl, alongside all of his siblings, tells Nasiens that all of their brothers and sisters would be waiting for them when they decide to return.
Abilities/Equipment[]
Similar to his father and brother, Belte has shown a preference to fight long range. [1] Belte has shown to summon and control a small plant like creature-doll, resembling an onion or radish bulb with a long vine protruding from its head, to fight his opponent.[2][3]
Abilities[]
- Levitation: Belte is one of King's three children who display the ability to levitate and fly like most fairies.
- Bind Ivy「バインド・アイヴィ, Baindo Aivi」: Belte summons several thorny vines to restrain the opponent. They are strong enough to destroy the body of anyone who tries to break free of them.
