The Chipmunks are an army of wild, undomesticated animals that live in the woods. They appeared in "The Big Field Trip". The chipmunks first teamed up against Adam and Jake, before Jake accidentally saved them from an attack by their natural predator. After that, the chipmunks dubbed Jake their kind and followed his commands.
