The Butterflies are a group of wild, undomesticated animals who live in the woods. Despite being completely innocent and harmless. The students and faculty of Charles Darwin Middle School are horrified by them, since they're animals that haven't been trained to speak and act normal like them. They appeared in "The Big Field Trip", where they fluttered around Ingrid and Lupe, before Lupe dominated them and became their queen.
