Episode 0452 Big Bird receives a package of winter clothes from his Granny Bird, so everyone helps him get dressed properly. Later, Oscar gets everyone to throw their trash into his new Super Grouch Trashcan, only for Bob to find out it has no bottom. By the end of the episode, it really begins snowing, as Mr. Hooper discusses the joys of the snow with the kids.
Episode 0453 Everyone gets dressed in winter clothes, and Cookie Monster, not sure how to shovel away the snow, imagines it as cookies and eats it. Mr. Hooper serves lunch to Big Bird and Luis's cat. Oscar the Grouch enjoys the snow, but not when Sam the Robot acts as a snowball making machine, nor when Gordon unknowingly throws snow on his face with a shovel.
Episode 0454 Big Bird wants to get rid of a large pile of snow in front of the door to his nest area, so Bob shovels it away. Big Bird then notices another pile of snow by his nest, so Mr. Snuffleupagus blows it away with his snuffle, unaware that the snow landed on the other side of the door. Bob assumes it was the snowplow that made this pile, not an “imaginary friend,” and proceeds to shovel it again. Later, an Anything Muppet boy and girl have a snowball fight; they resort to making bigger and bigger snowballs. Maria intervenes and helps solve their conflict by suggesting they make a snowman.
Episode 0455 Luis shovels the snow with a broom, and Big Bird attempts to chase a pesky top bar of the letter T. Maria and David cooperate on carrying some bricks and demonstrate the letter V in various ways.
Episode 0456 Oscar demonstrates subtraction by throwing snowballs at his neighbors. Gordon, Susan, and Bob make the letter X in the snow, while Little Bird (Jerry Nelson) and Big Bird figure out whose hat is whose by trying them on.
Episode 0457 Big Bird attempts to gives David a snowman on a wagon but finds that it melted. Meanwhile, Oscar looks for something rotten to do to someone, and Luis makes a “DANGER” sign for the ice skating pond.
Episode 0458 The Count counts the number of times it takes for Gordon to brush off the snow from the 123 Sesame Street stoop. After another failed attempt to introduce Susan to Snuffy, Big Bird shovels snow with David, but both notice that they’re shoveling it onto each other’s areas. Big Bird decides to dispose of it in Oscar's trash can.
Episode 0459 Gordon is sick of having to shovel after each new snowfall. He plays a rhyming game with Big Bird and the kids to help stay warm. After Big Bird imagines Maria and Susan fighting over the last newspaper in the snow, Maria sits on the steps and sorts snowballs with the kids. The day ends with Gordon's continued frustration at yet another bout of snow.
Episode 0460 Big Bird gathers everyone to say hello to the viewer, but all the excitement has him worn out, leaving the adults to take over most of the episode. Later, Oscar attempts to give Maria, David, and Luis some Grouch winter gear. Big Bird then comes back for some fun, only to find that he missed out.
Episode 0461 Big Bird can't find his gloves, but it's so cold out, he can't bear going without them. He resolves to buy a new pair, even after Susan shows him the set he left at her apartment. Susan and the kids make a snowman, which Oscar jokes is responsible for bringing the snow (like a mailman brings the mail). Luis, who grew up in Los Angeles where it doesn't show, learns how snow angels are made. Later, he walks through the snow with snowshoes, while Susan and the kids finish their snowman with a lamp shade for a hat.
Episode 0462 Gordon and some kids throw snowballs at the camera, and later shovel the snow in the yard while Sam the Robot sings about how perfect he is. Susan uses a layer of snow in the tables next to Hooper's Store to write out the alphabet to play a game with the kids, and Joey tells Maria her winter scarf is pretty before they look for letters in a picture. When it's time to say goodbye, everyone has gathered in the yard to throw snowballs through a tire against the garage.
Episode 0463 Big Bird wakes up before everybody else and wants to practice his drum, then build a birdhouse. However, he imagines the kind of reaction he’d get if he wakes people up with such loud activities and instead, decides to go back to sleep. David later wakes him up and shows him how he opens Hooper's Store every day but forgot to bring his keys. Later, Oscar disguises himself as a pile of snow, so people won’t bother him. Instead, they make a snowman out of him.
Episode 0464 Oscar disguises himself with a big grey beard. Susan recognizes him, but he adds more and more to his disguise. Just then, The Mudman arrives with Oscar’s mud delivery, mistakes Oscar for someone else, and leaves. Later, Susan and David encounter a large mound of snow in front of Hooper's, unaware that it's actually Snuffy sleeping under snow.
Episode 0465 Oscar the Grouch tries to trick everyone into saying the word "no," but David tricks the Grouch and has the last laugh. Later, Big Bird and Susan play a rhyming game; she tells him to look for something that rhymes with “man.” Snuffy helps Big Bird by bringing a giant can.
Episode 0466 Maria has the kids (and Oscar) point out the things she’s wearing that start with S: her sweater, scarf, skirt, shoes, and socks. Oscar throws a snowball at her. Later, Oscar decides to send a real Grouch present to his cousin in Florida: a box of snow. Maria warns him it’s going to melt by the time it gets there, but Oscar already knows that. Then, Big Bird, planning to make a sign for his nest, asks Luis for the right supplies, one by one. He goes back-and-forth between his nest and the Fix-it Shop every time he remembers what he needs, but Luis tells him how to plan for it instead.
Episode 0467 By this point, the snowy aspect no longer becomes the focus, although the slightly melted piles remain on Sesame Street for a few more episodes. Snuffy looks around for Big Bird’s friends and tries to imagine what they look like. Later, Oscar plays a prank on Maria, who vows revenge. As Bob paints the inside of a big barrel, Big Bird thinks Bob’s legs have grown longer. Bob reveals that the legs at the bottom are actually a kid’s.
Episode 0468 Big Bird, masquerading as Long John Bird, the famous pirate, leads the gang on a treasure hunt. Later, Sam the Robot writes a note for David.
Episode 0469 The snow has now almost entirely melted. |
