"Mountain of Love" is a Sesame Street song performed by Little Jerry and the Monotones.
The song features the band (pared down to a trio) climbing a snow-capped mountain as Little Jerry sings about the encouragement of making it to the top of the mountain to find what awaits you. When they reach the top to find the word LOVE carved out of the peak, Big Jeffie praises Little Jerry for his hard work climbing up the mountain and reaching the top, just as their trip is enlivened by the arrival of a Muppet mountain goat.
Notes[]
- The Monotones were puppeteered by David Rudman and Kevin Clash for this number. Jim Martin performs the goat.[1]
- This segment was directed by Lisa Simon and was taped on January 15, 1990.[1]
- In this song, the Pumpkin band member is used for Big Jeffie, rather than the usual Fat Blue puppet.
