
Kathleen Amant (b. 1969) is a Belgian author and illustrator of childrens' books. She studied applied art at the University of Ghent. Her early jobs were with various newspapers, but in 2000 she began making illustrations for the Belgian Kind en Gezin (Child and Family) agency. In 2004 her first picturebook featuring Anna was published by Clavis; the series would grow to include more than 30 books and be translated and published worldwide. She also wrote a series of books about Mimi the little witch, and stories about "big Anna", who is no longer a toddler.
She wrote a series of eight Sesamstraat books for Clavis which were published in 2005.
