For Muppet villains are we including villains on Sesame Street, such as those appearing in acted out stories and plays, as well as bully characters? (I'm looking at you, Bad Barney.) Same goes for The Muppet Show, be it Uncle Deadly in Muppet Melodrama and Big Tiny Tallsaddle. --Splurge (talk) 14:35, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

That article tends to attract problem users and was devised as a way to stop them from adding "Villains" and "Antagonists" categories which we'll never have. Bullies (as a lot of them either changed their ways or acted inconsistently from appearance to appearance) might be a sublist or it's own list, but character's playing villains is something else (and then you get into questions of arrestees on Bear on Patrol, does that time Link dressed as Goldfinger count, every Muppet Babies where a baby plays a villain in the fantasy, etc.) As is, there's POV issues, so defining one-shot villains (Big Tiny is a jerk, but is every jerky character a villain? Is J. P. Grosse a villain?) gets very interpretive. Note the reason the full dictionary definition is on top: "a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel."
Personally, I'm not sold on expanding an article we already have to police, unless it's very carefully done on Sandbox first. But it really seems likely to just get POV (doing an article on Melodramas and noting there who has played villains in that context, like Uncle Deadly and Herry, that might work better). Basically, the article was just a way to provide a link we could point at when reverting category adders (once again, Fandom changes ate the discussion). There's a Villains Wiki and we often get drive-by users from there anxious to use that word or antagonist wherever, even when inaccurate or arguable. A frequent editor created a "Bullying" category without discussion long ago and it had many of the same issues, plus seemingly just included any page where the world "bully" appeared, so it was deleted. If we want to expand and rework the article, consensus is needed and we definitely need to keep the trouble magnet aspect in mind. -- Andrew Emoji-droolAdminsig 20:15, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
I completely get that. Thanks for your input. --Splurge (talk) 22:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
