Felix, the self-proclaimed Helper Chicken, was introduced as a recurring character in the second season of The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo. He was typically seen in the backstage subplots, offering his services as Helper Chicken to others, but often learns his contributions aren't very helpful (at first, anyway).
He has since gone on to make several appearances in other Sesame Street-related media. Notably, he appeared in a 2022 TikTok video with Grover, which references the puppet's original purpose as a stunt chicken in Sesame Street 4-D Movie Magic. An onscreen chyron in the special Cookie Monster's Bake Sale: Back to School also notes his role as "Stunt Chicken."
He began appearing on the show proper during Season 54, first appearing in Episode 5409.
