SCENE 1 | Big Bird is reading his "Western Tales" book and thinks it might be fun to have lived life as a cowboy. He begins to imagine what it would be like living in the Old West...
SCENE 1 cont'd | In Big Bird's imagination, Sesame Street is rendered as an old west town named "Sesame Gulch." Big Bird makes himself into a bad hombre named "Bad Bird," fastest wing in the West. Two miners (played by Willy and writer Joseph A. Bailey) flee in terror as he moseys over to "Hooper's Cantina."
SCENE 1 cont'd | Inside, Bob is the bartender, while Maria and David appear as saloon patrons. They become frightened when Bad Bird enters and turn yellow when Bob reveals he's unable to make his usual birdseed float. As they head for the exit, Big Bird freezes the scene, feeling tired of everyone treating him like the bad guy.
SCENE 1 cont'd | He changes into a good guy - Sheriff Matt Bird, who everyone commends for ridding the town of Bad Bird. Big Bird plays along, talking tough about how he handled the criminal. However, Bad Bird (still played by Big Bird) returns to town to exact revenge on the sheriff. Everyone in the cantina, especially Sheriff Matt, goes into a panic as the scenes dissolve back to present day Sesame Street...

Maria suspects that he might be a little jealous, though Oscar doesn't know the meaning of the word. Once educated, he denies he feels this way, citing that he doesn't like anybody enough to feel jealous. She tries to wring a response from him about how much he likes her, but this is against the Grouch code, he claims. "But, I might sit next to you at a movie," he says, "if you didn't smell so good." Maria goes on to tell him that she likes many different people beyond David for different reasons, even Oscar himself. Oscar admits that if she catered to his own interests a little more (such as not bathing, losing her front teeth, and eating onions), he might ask her to a movie sometime too. Feeling flustered, he goes back in his can to break some dishes. Maria remains struck and flattered by what she considers "the nicest thing" Oscar has ever said to her.
