The Swamp is a location introduced in Monster Hunter 2. It is situated in a temperate environment characterized by bodies of stagnant water, tall deciduous trees, moist caverns, and patches of tall brown grass. It is inhabited by a variety of monsters, including Bulldrome, both types of Yian Kut-Ku, Gypceros, Shogun Ceanataur, both types of Gravios and Khezu. It returns in Monster Hunter Generations known as Marshlands.

Base Camp
	A muddy shoreline with many lilypads, one large enough to be walked on, the Veggie Elder wanders around here.
Area 1
	A grassy road with some trees, Melynx and Kelbi are commonly seen around here.
	Monsters: Kelbi, Melynx.
Area 2
	A grassy field crossed by a small stream of water, Flight capable wyverns commonly come here to sleep when injured.
	Monsters: Kelbi, Genprey, Ioprey, Remobra.
Area 3
	A big cave with a large crystal formation, herbivores usually roam this area.
	Monsters: Aptonoth, Kelbi, Melynx.
Area 4
	A muddy large section between cliffs, many Large Monsters commonly pass by, usually filled with many small monsters.
	Monsters: Ioprey, Genprey, Bullfango, Conga.
Area 5
	A muddy opening with a view of a large river, Ioprey and Bullfango are common here.
	Monsters: Ioprey, Genprey, Bullfango, Aptonoth.
Area 6
	A muddy zone with many trees and a cave entrance, the ground here is particularly uneven.

Area 7
	A long cove with a wide view of the sky, some monsters like Congalala come here to sleep.

Area 8
	A wide open area filled with high wheat-like grass, many Flying Wyverns and Bird Wyverns favor this area.
	Monsters: Ioprey, Genprey, Bullfango, Remobra.
Area 9
	A medium sized cave commonly inhabited by cave dwellers, such as Akura Jebia, Akura Vashimu and Khezu.
	Monsters: Aptonoth, Kelbi, Melynx, Ioprey.
Secret Area
	A grotto-like area complete with large lilly pads and rotting logs. There is a fishing spot, a mining point, and hunters can gather Felyne Fur Rubies here.
