A busy weekend...

I had such a wonderful weekend (scapping wise, that is).... Saturday I went scrap shopping with Mieke in Doorn and today, Sunday, I got 2 layouts done!! Yeah!

I hadn't seen Mieke for quite some time and it was such a pleasure to have a couple of hours to ourselves to chat over a latte and sandwich and to do some scrappy shoppings together!! And the great thing was.... she brought me "some" leftovers from her Nikki Sivils goods: U R My Favorite and Bella Blue and Oscar Too.

So, first thing this morning, I got out my scrapping stuff and started on two Nikki Sivils layouts. One for The Scrappiest, which I can show you tomorrow and another one for challenge #3 from "Creative Prompts 4U" using the latest Sketchy Thursdays sketch:
Let's start with the layout and then I'll show you my purchasings!!

The challenge on Creative Prompts 4U is to create a layout around the word "friendship". I had this photo of Manon and Mats together with Jippie, our dog, which I thought was perfect for this challenge! Not only are Manon and Mats bff 's, but Jippie is definitely the bff of our family!! I used Nikki Sivils' "Bella Blue and Oscar Too" line... I just LOVE her stuff!!
And here some close ups: I used crackle paint on the doghouse and my paper tagger to attach it and the charm to the paper.

The flower consists of 6 punched out cirkels, inked and then attached with some thread and a button.

Now the photos of my purchasings:

Firstly Prima!! I bought both the Shabby Chic and the Flights of Fancy lines! Including flowers, stamps, pebbles, bling, letter stickers, some wonderful matching (but not Prima) ribbon and journaling stickers.
Secondly, some fantastic, sweet looking fabric: (don't know what I'm going to use it for yet.... any ideas???)
Thirdly, some Sassafras "Monstrosity" papers, letters and stickers. I know, I know, one of the "old" lines, but the new ones weren't there yet and my LSS didn't carry these and I really wanted them badly for a long time!!

And then on to my present from Mieke, the Nikki Sivils goodies!! :):):)
Here's a peak sneak from the layout I made for The Scrappiest, using U R My Favorite!

and here are the photos!! Mieke spoilt me soooo much!!! :):):)
Thanks Miek, you're the best!

And now I'm going to have my last cup of coffee of the day and put my feet up in front of the telly. The kids are finally in bed and we have some peace and quiet around here and of course.... I've got the telly all to myself!!

Thanks for looking and hope to see you again soon!

En Garde!

Look what arrived yesterday! My Nikki rak from Julie Tucker!! Look at those Burlap buttons and those Warm Cord Brads!!! Wohoo, love them!!

Thanks Nikki and Julie!! (and Mieke for directing me to their blogs!).

On my favorite scrapbooksite "My Scrapbook Nook" Scoobie(=Hilde) challenged me (and I her) to create a 12x12 layout using embossing on it. The reason being that I'm in doubt whether or not I should buy some embossing folders for my Revolution... will I ever use them, or will they end up in my drawer without ever seeing the light of day? (like my Fiskars Shape Boss???)

Here is the layout I made. As I had lots of BG Origins left of my Nook kit I used that again, hope you're not tired of it, LOL! I embossed the yellow pp behind the photo and then inked it so it stands out a bit. I used the Fiskars Shape Boss for the very first time and thanks to Hilde I now know for a fact that I won't be using it ever again! Although I do like the result, I didn't like the tool at all!!
And here are two photos of some details:

The layout is based on sketch #175 from Pencillines:

TFL and see you again next time!

24 februari...

Today my mother would have turned 68 if she had lived.....:(:(:( she's gone 9 months now and I still miss her so much.

This morning we had coffee with her husband (who's not my father - but almost feels like it .... they had been together for 24 years) to remember her birthday. He had bought 12 balloons (they had 12 grand children) filled with helium and he had written my mom a very sweet card. In the garden we sang "happy birthday to you" and then we let go of the balloons.....

Here they go!
and they watched until they couldn't see them anymore...

Thanks for letting me share...

Another Basic Grey Origins...

On the Nook's forum one of the girls said "this kit scraps itself" and you know what? It really does!!!!

This is the new sketch from The Scrappiest (loved it!!):

And here's my take on it, Manon's 13th birthday!!

And some details:

What I love about this kit is that I would never have chosen it myself.... I always pick papers with bright colors, LOL!! and now that I'm "forced" into using these colors I love it!! So thanks Leah!!

Thanks for visiting and see you back soon!

Valentine layout

Okay, so I didn't get anything on Valentine's Day (what's new?) .... that doesn't mean I can't scrap a romantic page! :):):)

On the American Crafts blog the challenge this week was: create a Valentines themed layout, using 2 or more AC products. So this is it:

And one detailed photo:

For this page I used the "Romance" line from AC (paper and cut outs) as well as their Thickers. Furthermore a Lily Bee flower, Prima swirls, MR birds and some odds and ends.

TFL and I hugely appreciate your comment!
