FiM #10 cover RE[]

Hello

I posted a photo within ( http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_is_Magic_%28comics%29/Gallery ) which was of an offical relase IDW CVR RE Issue 10 Blank Cover which had Big Mac around the boarder instead of Twilight , though someone has removed it.

Note = I have never found the twilight one for sale anywhere which suggests it was never relased and have only ever found the Big Mac one for sale.

Inkscape help[]

Imperfect, I'm trying to get the hang of working with Inkscape to create some vectors of the Alicorn Princesses to put on my DA, especially trying my luck with their Crystal Alicorn forms, but I'm having trouble getting the hang of things when it comes to resizing images and trying to maintain a nice, clear, sharpened image of the selection I cut out of a screenshot as the larger I make it, the more blurry it gets.

Pardon me for saying so, but it's most certainly not your "job". There's no need to act self-righteous. Like I said on your talk page, the fact that you have an interest in the Wiki's galleries is appreciated. But like I also said, your images are:

1. Of middling to low quality (I recommend using a higher-quality video source)
2. Spaced only a few frames apart from, and thus nearly identical to, images that already exist

The Wiki has certain policies in place, such as Help:Screenshots, for a reason; if you "don't like" them or disagree with them, feel free to take it to the forums.   15:48, April 6, 2016 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure nothing has changed since when I was actively taking screenshots and adding them to galleries, so I'm assuming Impy uses the same system I did: look up Yay Ponies, and download either the 720p or 1080p iTunes rip of the episode, and then take the actual screenshots in the VLC player (look that up and download that as well).-- Jonny Manz^talk_contribs^e-mail_{edit count} 01:56, April 22, 2016 (UTC)

Hey, do you remember that workshop page with that French song. I think we may move it now. I didn't actually got an actual very proficient French speaker to check both the lyrics and the translation as I hoped, but at least some random person did the former (which I was pretty certain was wrong from the beginning, so I'm glad that they did). The translation as of now is a hybrid of Google Translate and Duolingo volunteers, but I'm pretty content with how it turned out. One thing I would suggest though is putting a soft redirect (or a "link", if you prefer calling it that way) inside the move reason. The original workshop link might have spread somewhat around the web from the EQD comments sections and it might be a good idea to leave a clue for those who would find the (soon to be) old link. Trivia[]

New Idea

On the characters, can there be a trivia section filled with facts on the characters: example Applejack is one of the few characters with freckles, the others are Twist etc.

Also can there be a section on every episode that displays the characters in an episode splitting them based on starring, featuring, and appearing.

I really want to add pictures, but I'm too scared to do so (I think we all know why).

Normally, I just take YouTube screenshots, but now I want to try and find stuff that makes the pictures more a LOT more high quality.

Delete tag[]

You've seen my latest blog and very kindly did not block me for it, so I have a question regarding it

I know, often I overcome my stage fright to post blogs giving my deeper feelings and opinions, which is done to attempt to get people to understand why I say the things I say, because I feel I have to get it off my chest, but usually as soon as it's actually up I feel like Fluttershy when she knocked over the curtain and put a Delete tag on it, which would cause you to either question why I'd say it in the first place, or block me for being disruptive or attention-seeking.

So, I know it seems counterproductive to do so, but would you give me permission to put a Delete tag up there? Because once again I wish I hadn't posted that especially since I can tell you're annoyed by it. (I didn't want to say your name because I know you don't like that, but it was intended in large part for you in response to your comment about all my death comments when discussing the Trixie thing, I only didn't post it on your talkpage because I thought there might be others who'd want an explanation on that)

Also, can I put a Delete tag on any of my blogs directly related to my interests in villain deaths and tails, to remove all traces of that from here? I'm really insecure about liking either at the moment due to the way it's been received on here, and I know that's going to come across as an attention-seeking comment but it's not meant to be. I'm considering this one as well, but there's a few comments there that are telling me not to be ashamed of it so I'm not sure if I want those gone with it, so that one's undecided for now (despite being the first I thought of). Reading those I almost reconsidered all this, but then, that was then and this is now. If at this point you think it's nothing I should be ashamed of, they can all stay except the death comments one.

And btw these are only the ones that specify my interest in them, not the ones that merely mention the words "dead", "death", or "tail", or saying I want Chrysalis dead for what she did to Twilight, and if possible I edited them out instead of naming the blogs.

I wasn't so much asking you if I should, just if I could without getting blocked.

I use VLC. I have the 720p of A Hearth's Warming Eve. I often have to press the Print button, then edit with Paint.NET, and then upload it. Any chance to get it without this method?

Don't use the Print Screen button. VLC Media Player has its own method for capturing screenshots (the shortcut is Shift+S). You can set where files get saved to in "Tools" -> "Preferences".   19:36, May 15, 2016 (UTC)

This is still bothering me[]

I like to think that everyone has that one statement someone else said that they can never forget. In my case, it was you saying that I was overinflating (which means "to puff up with pride" in this context) Rarity's faults.

Since I'm always looking to improve what I'm good at, I'd like to know what specific points you thought I was overinflating. This might help me improve my debate skills, so I would genuinely want to know. Yes, it still bothers me. GoldenLine (talk) 01:01, May 20, 2016 (UTC)

I haven't thought about this for a while, so bear with me. Your main points on Rarity's page seemed to be predicated on the fact that her behavior in Canterlot Boutique was indicative of brattiness.

"When Rarity is unhappy with her own decisions, she projects that onto an innocent employee." I've argued this into the dirt at this point, but Sassy Saddles is not as "innocent" as you make her out to be. She took more orders for dresses than Rarity was able to handle. But you make this out to be Rarity's own fault because of her "incompetence at keeping up the supply". To which I ask, how can a single pony be expected to keep up supply for two hundred?

"Rarity tragically lacks introspection and basic business savviness. This leads her to go in for the wrong reasons, treat others poorly, and make huge fundamental mistakes." If Rarity lacked "basic business savviness", she wouldn't be the owner of her own boutique in the first place. Yes, she's had instances where she treated others poorly for the sake of success, but only during such times where her world view has been seriously challenged, like in Rarity Takes Manehattan. And Rarity is not the only character this has happened to. She makes mistakes, but she learns from them.

"Rarity is lost in the moment and just stands back from the door... reveling in her ego too much to rise to the occasion. Sassy suddenly had to scramble to the door to give a big welcome to the crowd after Rarity got lost in herself and decided to start their big day without Sassy." This, I feel, is a gross misinterpretation of events. Rarity wasn't reveling in ego. She was about to greet the crowd before Sassy essentially shoved her out of the way. What ego was there to revel in?

There are some other points of yours about how Rarity was "self-defeating" for declining her friends' help, and perhaps this is a little true. I could go on and address each of your points individually, but to boil it down simply, I personally feel like you overstate Rarity's mistakes and understate the mistakes that other characters make by association. Whether that's right or wrong is purely subjective -- all I'm saying is it may cause you and I to disagree on a number of things.   02:09, May 20, 2016 (UTC)

Well, I was more looking for feedback (on how it was over-inflating, as opposed to counter-arguments, but if you're still willing to explain...) on the stuff I said before you made that statement. The second and third points I made after that... the first one I answered in the comments itself.

As for the second one, I still don't see how this is overinflating because that statement is referring to a specific episode and specific context rather than being applicable to much better episodes like Rarity Takes Manehattan. ...And this point wasn't even aimed at you. However, I can very well see where you're coming from here. Well, somewhat. I was kind of vague with the whole "not happy with her own decisions" thing. So to make it clear so that you can understand it more: By starting a branch in the larger, more wealthy capital city, Rarity is basically setting herself up for a vast increase in demand. Realistically, we should be expecting far more than 100 orders. The Rules of Rarity are that Rarity makes dresses that suit the respective tastes and styles of individual ponies. But by making dresses pre-opening and having one of them be promoted by the most popular member of royalty, Rarity is pretty much asking for way more than one pony to want the same dress. She opens a branch with distinct products and is dis-satisfied with having standardized products. "Rarity designed certain dresses that she (presumably) would end up making and the episode does not establish Rarity trying to incorporate unique customization options into the business model (outside of her just doing it randomly by herself)." I conclude that she should not have adopted this business model in the first place. What Rarity should have done was to get to know each of the customers individually and spend time with them so she can design a dress specifically for them. If she does not want to have to do that 100 times, then she really should not have gone into this venture i.e. she goes in for the wrong reasons. She makes no effort to communicate with and instead pins the blame on Sassy i.e. she treats other poorly. Hopefully now you can understand what I meant by "not happy with her own business decisions".

And the third one? Again, I don't see how it is overinflating. Whenever I commented, I went back and checked: Rarity talks about herself and how much she's been looking forward to opening a shop there. Rarity then opens the door (without Sassy) from afar and just gazes in awe at the crowd (egocentric). Sassy Scapegoat then cuts in front of her to welcome the crowd. Honestly, I don't see this as any worse than what Rarity was doing. Watching that scene carefully (right now), even giving Rarity the extreme benefit of the doubt (like always), Rarity doesn't gesture to, address, or greet the crowd. She just stands there. Also, Sassy doesn't even come close to making physical contact with her. To say that Sassy "essentially shoved her out of the way" feels more like a personal reflection on Rarity's part rather than a viewer's observation. To conclude this one, like I said in the comments, "[You] pointed to a certain part of the episode, and I felt like commenting on both of their actions to both help give the full context and to scrutinize them both."

Honestly, it's more the "overinflating" statement that's bothering me more than the subject of the discussion itself. The reason this bothers me so much is because you basically accused someone of doing something that they don't feel like they were doing. I myself wouldn't really go as far as to say stuff like "Sassy was strong-arming every step" or "maybe Sassy did everything right [from a marketing standpoint]" (emphasis on "maybe"). Every piece of feedback helps, and disagreeing is pretty natural, but to just up and say that I was overinflating Rarity's faults when I really don't feel like I have done so doesn't feel honest. And really, it's not like I have declared Sassy having done no wrong; I've admitted that selling only one dress was a bad move on her part, I've admitted that she shouldn't have said the dress was too complicated to market (in front of the press, I mean. Doing it privately with Rarity would be fine.), I've admitted that she's not very perspicacious in realizing that Rarity is an egocentric moron. I honestly don't know what other fault there is, but I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt because she had the moral high ground for most of the episode. Also, the only time I used the term "self-defeating" was in regards to your own rhetoric. It specifically pointed to certain conditions for the term to apply, that being the statements you say can't explain the conflict end up resolving the conflict. Whether or not you agree with that is up in the air, and naturally, I'm going to disagree with the potential attempts to justify not being considerate towards another human (or pony) being (i.e. being a brat and projecting her problems onto others). To use this to imply or seem that I was saying that Rarity herself was self-defeating is a stretch too far if you ask me because it radically changes both the subject and the context of my use of that term. And honestly? To only say that it was "a little true" hurts. It's as though you won't humor anything I say. Even if that position is without bias, it's very jarring either way. And no, please don't address all of my points; I've argued them to my wits' end at this point (sorry, had to deal with a lot of blatant sophistry back there -- not your fault at all).

One last thing: I am a bit confused when you say that the discussion "devolved into petty name-calling". The only person who did such a thing promptly left (and they only joined to spite me... how productive), and I was civil both before and after that, so I wouldn't say it has devolved into anything.

Upon reviewing some incidents of what happened last night in chat, I'm personally very disturbed by these incidents and I feel the ban should be altered but I did not want to do so without contacting you first. Although not the same, we banned someone for one month for sexual harassment.

If we lead by that example, I would say that what Moon said to Bronymon was just as equally disturbing and I do not feel a seven day ban is sufficient enough for this action. Personally, I feel it should at least be a month which Grov originally made it. Filly Please who was also involved, was banned for a much longer period of time. (A year).

I saw no evidence of sexual harassment in the logs I was provided -- just bullying. (That said, I haven't looked at all of the logs.) Considering this is Moonshine Stars' second ban from chat, I felt 7 days was the appropriate length. But you seem to be more informed on the matter than I am, so I'll leave it to your discretion.

Hey sorry, no I don't mean like that. Moon hasn't done any sexual harassment, I was just using that as an example. She wished death upon a user. In the past, we have banned someone with hardly any ban record for a month for sexual harassment. Now, I know she hasn't sexually harassed anyone but I personally feel that wishing death upon a user serves something a little longer than 7 days but it's your call. I support whatever you choose. As for Filly Please, I'm quite suprised it wasn't an indefinate ban as I feel it should be.
