The Perfect Stallion is a musical number featured in the episode Hearts and Hooves Day. It is sung by the Cutie Mark Crusaders as they search around Ponyville for a stallion to pair with their teacher Cheerilee.

Name and re-use[]

Daniel Ingram stated on his Facebook page that he had been calling the song "Valentine's Day song", but was open to suggestions for a different name.[1] After a short period, he settled on "Hearts and Hooves Day", however after further consideration he decided "The Perfect Stallion" was a better title.[2][3] Hasbro's mylittlepony YouTube channel, The Hub's website, and the Season Two Disc 4 DVD also use the title "The Perfect Stallion",[4][5] while the Royal Pony Wedding DVD uses the title "Valentines Day Song".

The song has been released as a sing-along on the DVDs My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Royal Pony Wedding and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Season Two Disc 4. Music from this song is used in the games Twilight Sparkle's Magical Mysteries and Rainbow Dash's Rainboom Game on Discovery Family's daytime site. The song serves as the first track on the soundtrack album Songs of Harmony. Furby Connect sings a cover of this song with the Furby Connect app during Valentine's Day.

This song is registered with Broadcast Music, Inc. as "Valentine S Song" (or "Valentine's Song"), work #14611198.

This One's Too Young S2E17

This one's too young.

[Sweetie Belle]
Cheerilee is sweet and kind
She's the best teacher we could hope for
The perfect stallion you and I must find
One to really make her heart so-o-oar
But...
This one's too young, this one's too old
He clearly has a terrible cold
"Hay Fever": Achoo!
[Apple Bloom]
This guy's too silly
He's way too uptight
"Persnickety": I say!
[Sweetie Belle]
Well nothing's wrong with this one
He seems alright
Scootaloo: His girlfriend sure thinks so.
[Sweetie Belle]
How 'bout this one?
[Apple Bloom]
He's much too flashy
[Scootaloo]
He might do
[Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle]
If he weren't so splashy
[Apple Bloom]
Too short
[Sweetie Belle]
Too tall
[Apple Bloom]
Too clean
[Scootaloo]
Too smelly
[Sweetie Belle]
Too strangely obsessed with tubs of jelly
Cutie Mark Crusaders: [sigh]
[Apple Bloom]
I don't think that we're mistaken
It seems all the good ones are taken
[Sweetie Belle]
I really feel that at this rate
We'll never find the perfect date
[Cutie Mark Crusaders]
Don't wanna quit and give up hope
Scootaloo: Doing anything special for Hearts and Hooves Day?
[Sweetie Belle]
Oh please, oh please oh please say...
Big McIntosh: Nope.
Cutie Mark Crusaders: [gasp]
[Sweetie Belle]
We did it girls, we've found the one
Who will send our teacher's heart aflutter
Apple Bloom: Wait a minute. Lemme get this straight. Are you talkin' 'bout my brother?
