How can it be the end of August already?!

Where on earth has the time gone?! Although given the weather I think it's actually November. It's sooooo cold. And if I'm cold now, what will I be like in the middle of winter. I think I may need many many more layers! It's our wedding anniversary on Friday. And no, before you ask, I haven't made a card yet. Inspiration just isn't striking I'm afraid. If only I could remember what I made last year..... it's 11 years, what is that I wonder *goes to google*. Mmm, it's steel. That's not much help is it?! Anyway, while I ponder that, here's a card I made which has a definite Autumnal feel to the colours. The image is from Funky Kits but I can't remember her name.

Well isn't this strange?

It's just me and Craig in the house. Scott is away to his wee pals to play, it's very quiet. Craig is playing on the wii. There is no arguing about games and whose shot it is or shouts of "no, don't help me". I'm not missing that at all. Oh no. I've been waiting in ALL day on a parcel being delivered. When does it come? After Craig has arrived home from school. It would have been far more helpful to have arrived earlier so I could have gone out! Never mind, I used the time to rearrange some furniture in the boys' room which has gone down well with Craig and I've done some ironing, the dishes, made the dinner and made a card. Go me eh?! Threw (literally) this card together the other night for the SN Facebook group challenge, last week's theme being black! I'd love to say that I looked like this lassie. Unfortunately only in my dreams (although I do have a pair of shoes not too dissimilar to the ones she's wearing)

Hopping mad ;)

Over at the Sugar Nellie blog and in the House of Sugar, they're gearing up for Christmas. Yes, I know it's August but it'll be here before we know it. They're having a blog hop on Thursday and Friday to celebrate the new release of stamps. You still have time to check out the sneak peeks over at the Sugar Nellie blog just to get you in the mood. New stamps are out Thursday!
And over at Ladybug Crafts, they're also having a hop on 6th September to celebrate a new release!
Mmmmm, wonder if the warning triangles could be a clue to the contents of the new stamps at Ladybug Crafts Ink.....
Back later with a card. Hugs. Susan xxx

It's time for a dip in the Sugar Bowl

Well as it goes, that wasn't a bad Monday. Craig was back at school after being unwell on Friday so I had a bit of peace. I even *gasp* managed some housework ;) Also had Scott's wee pal down to play straight after school. They came in and the first thing they asked for (with their snacks) was a cup of tea. Honestly, lie a pair of old men!! As promised to my lovely bloggy buddy (and now SB sweetie) Fi, here is my first entry to the Sugar Bowl using Marlena's sketch which I've added below. I've also gone with the optional theme of One for the Girls. This is one of my newest pieces of Sugar and I don't want any of them feeling unloved so there may be a few more entries. Sugar Bowl - sketch and One for the Girls Image - Lost in Music, Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers Cardstock and paper from stash Embellishments - Card Candy, Craftwork Cards Hugs.Susan xxx Gotta go now and make a birthday card for tomorrow!!

Think winter has arrived....

It's cold, wet, windy and I'm freezing :( And speaking of wind.... See what I did there ;), I made this card for my friend Cass using the second of the two stamps I won in the blog candy that Cathy had. Didn't want to post it until I was sure that Cass had received her card but she has now, so it's safe to show you! Been an awfully long day

Finished work just before 7. I was trying to get a training brief written, it's not finished. It's not far off but my brain had started to hurt and I was getting hungry so I came home!! I was going to spend some time crafting tonight but I might just have an early night with my book. Or maybe the lure of some sugary goodness through in the dining room will be too much and I'll have to go and finish off another card I started a few days ago. This is one such card. This is one of the stamps that I won in Cathy's blog candy a couple of weeks ago, I coloured in the image, picked the paper, used an old sketch from a challenge blog that I never managed to enter. And then it lay there on the craft mat till I decided whether I liked it or not. I think I do now....

2nd post of the day.... and there may be a 3rd later ;)

Yesterday, the lovely Fiona on the SN Facebook page set the challenge of black. I really enjoyed making this card. Little Goth Girl reminds me of me when I was a teenager! It's not fair *stamps feet*

No, not the words of one of the children. From me! Walking up to school with Scott this morning and I got really dizzy. Had to hold his hand all the way up the road, which let me say did NOT go down well, to give me something to concentrate on. Now I feel slightly better but not great. Yesterday and today were my days of freedom after the school holidays and now I feel I can't do anything today cos I feel rotten :( Anyway, enough of my moan. Onto a card. This is the card I made for my lovely friend Ali whose birthday was last week. I did take a photo of it but then my phone packed in, and I lost all the photos :( Ali, very kindly took a photo and emailed it to me so now I can share. Thank you honey. Mwah. I'm glad to report she loved the card - always a slightly worrying time when you send a card to another cardmaker ;) Image - Tatty Buttons coloured with Promarkers. Shhhhhhh. Do not disturb.

The boys are at school, Andy is at work. There is not a sound in the house. And it's lovely :) Normally I'd stick some music on but for now I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet. I was going to go and do a spot of crafting this afternoon but I might just sit here and do nothing enjoying the peace until I have to go and get the children ;) A wee baby boy card to share with you today - I had in mind to make it for the girl at work who had asked for the big sister card but she said she was just going with the big sister card so I had the wee image all coloured in and he looked a bit lonely on his wee bit of card so I've given him some love. Now all I need to do is find someone to send it to!

Sweet Sassy Saturday

OK - I know it's one day late but.... over at Simply Sassy it's Sweet Sassy Saturday and you could win Love to Read. Susan xx

Was that it?!

Goodness hasn't the weekend flown by! However, I am very much looking forward to enjoying a couple of days of freedom while the cherubs are at school instead of having to listen to "Muuuuuuuuummmmmm" "I'm telling on you" etc etc. I was quite productive last night. Made 3 (almost 4) cards in the end. I'll share the others through the week. The one that is almost done is just to be stuck down, I was trying it out to see if I liked it before I actually stuck the tape down. I made this card for a friend at church who is daft on cows. Although after I had made it I had a moment's panic when I thought that maybe it was pigs and not cows she liked. Unfortunately though I got the date wrong and it was actually last Sunday (I thought it was through the week and that I wasn't *that* late)

Scott went to rugby for the first time today. Seemed to really enjoy it - we're trying to persuade Craig to take part next week too but I'm afraid that Craig takes after me in the sport department........

Till tomorrow. Hugs.Susan xxx

I want it noted...

That I have finished crafting for the night and I have tidied the dining room table. Just saying..... ;) Night night. Hugs.Susan xxx

Food glorious food

No card today. I have made one but I tried taking a photo of it there and it's a wee bit too dark. Will take one again in the morning and share it tomorrow. By which time I'll have made lots more cards cos I'm going to put the laptop down and go and create. Maybe. For now here's a photo of a happy boy with a camoflaged face. Sandra and I went over to Craft at Home in Blantyre today as they're closing down (well the shop is, the internet site isn't). Got some bargains so I really want to go play now.

Sandra's hubby looked after my 2 while we were away as Andy was away to the football which was fab. I'm sure the boys had more fun playing with their friends then they would have had wandering round a craft shop ;) Have you ever noticed that when you decide to cut down all you can think about is food. I'm starving!! Hugs.

Did you hear the bomb go off?

Cos I think one must have gone off in my house looking at the state of it!! Well that's the end of the first week at school. They seemed to have survived unscathed.... However, it was only a 3 day week. Let's see how the full week goes next week ;) Today is our friends' wedding anniversary. I stupidly didn't make the card in time to post it yesterday. However, after much debating on the SN Facebook page last night with some chums I sat down and made a card. It's kinda similar to the one I did a couple of weeks ago for the LiM challenge but I've added a wee bit more so it's no longer a LiM card, lol! Sugar Bowl (again)

This is getting to be a habit, this is Sugar Bowl entry #3! I love Maria Therese's sketch over at the Sugar Bowl so I've done another card :) One of the girls at work asked me for a Big Sister card for her friend's wee girl. And I had inked up Daisy cos I thought she would be quite sweet and then I remembered I had this wee Sweetie so I thought she'd do instead. That of course means that I have a Daisy kicking about needing some love.... Mmmmm. What will I do this time!

Sugar Bowl sketch and optional theme of blue Image - Big Sister, Funky Kits, coloured with Promarkers Cardstock and paper from stash Embellishments - Card Candy, Craftwork Cards, Buttons from stash Tools - Border punch, Stampin' Up I think I might go and make an accompanying baby boy card although I delivered the card to Lynn today but there's some paper and card left over and I could use the Ladybug Crafts Baby Baby Set. I also have an anniversary card to make for friends which *should* have been posted today. Mmm. Late. Again! Hugs.Susan xxx

Brotherly love

on the first day of school..... How long will it last?! Hugs.Susan xxx

And the sun came out...

Well, that's the first day of school down. Seems to have gone ok. Craig wanted to walk up the road to school today by himself so he left at 8.15 and when Scott and I passed his playground about 3o minutes later there were he and his pal surrounded by the ladies. Oh dearie me!!! Didn't have a good start to the day as we had no tea bags in the house so I couldn't have a cuppa with my breakfast. Some people are no good without coffee. I'm no good without tea. I could have had coffee but for some reason I'm unable to drink a coffee first thing in the morning before I've had my morning cuppa. I had posted on Facebook a warning to approach me with caution and when I got to work my lovely colleagues Lynne, Erika and Paul presented me with tea bags. Lynne even went so far as to make me a cuppa :) Thanks guys. This is entry #2 into the Sugar Bowl. I know the light isn't that great but I wanted to try out my new phone and I thought the glitter on it looked fab. I've also entered it into the SN Facebook group snow challenge. I've used Pillow Talk again - she is fast becoming a favourite Sassy since my lovely friend Cass brought me her from her hols!

eek

2 cards, 1 day, both have pink. Bleugh. Over at Simply Stampin' Challenge Blog the challenge was to use the colour scheme below, I didn't have any Pacific Point ribbon so I used Marina Mist instead. Slightly darker but I hope it will be ok for the girls over at SS. So, that's us at the end of the summer holidays. I feel like the 7.5 weeks have flown by. Craig goes into P6 tomorrow, only 2 years left at Primary school. Can't believe it. And Scott goes into P2. IF, I remember I'll take some back to school photos. Last day.....

of the Summer holidays. Woo hoo!!!! Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. That's just over 23 hours to go until they're back. Sadly I'll have to go to work though so I won't get to enjoy my freedom til next Monday ;) We're about to get ready to go swimming and then who knows what the rest of the day will hold. Wanted to get this card blogged. Made it yesterday and am completely traumatised by the pinkness of it!! Pink is soooo hard. (well, it is for me anyway, I'm not a girly girl and I live in a house full of boys!!) Anyway, here's Pillow Talk - the PINK version. The Sugar Bowl - sketch

Technology. Pah.

My trusty phone has broken down. The touch screen on it has decided to pack in completely. So, last night Andy tried to download an update for it to see if that would fix it. Sadly it didn't and it wiped the memory card. So photos went, numbers went.... yada yada. Thankfully most of the photos had already been backed up. Two that I wanted to share with you hadn't made it to the laptop yet (although one was very similar to the first day at school card I made earlier but it was PINK) and one was a birthday card I made to send to a very special friend but as I didn't post it in time on Saturday she may not have got it today for her birthday. Fingers crossed it will get to her tomorrow. And maybe, just maybe if I ask her nicely she'll take a photo and send it to me..... so Ali if you're reading this keep an eye out for the postie ;) I hope you've had a happy day xx I've made a card for the Sugar Bowl but it's too dark to take a photo of it. I'll try it again in the morning and share it with you. For now, I'll away and see if I can create something else. I have a cunning plan for another SB card which will tie in with the SN Facebook page challenge! Hugs. Susan xxx

It's oh so quiet....

both boys are out playing. Making the most of the summer holidays and the fact that it isn't raining. Yes, you read that right, it isn't raining. Andy is sleeping, although he says he's not. He says he's listening to the football..... the funny thing is though, I've muted the volume so I could listen to some crafting tuts on You Tube ;) and he appears not to have noticed! I met the gorgeous Kerry for coffee earlier and we had a good old crafty natter and we got round to talking about tuts on You Tube, hence my checking them out. I'm going to have a go at colouring with my Prismas again later instead of my trusty promarkers.......... I may have to sit in front of the laptop to do it right enough. This is a card I made to send to Andy's cousin for his birthday (unfortunately I forgot to post it in time, oops!). It's another one of these cards that just fell together when I was going through my scrap boxes. Maybe one day, when those boxes are empty I'll get round to working on some of the masses of 12x12 card and paper that are still in tact ;) Image - Happy Everything (retired), Stampin Up Cardstock and Paper from stash Ink - Night of Navy, Stampin Up Embellishments -Card Candy, Craftwork Cards. Happy Saturday

I hope you're having a lovely weekend whatever you're doing! You may remember a couple of weeks ago we were away for the weekend. Well it had been (and I can't remember exactly when) Andy's cousin Jim's wife Nicky's 40th birthday. Ackie and Val gave her a card and present and I felt kinda bad that we hadn't known. Nicky said she didn't want a card with 40 on it she wanted one with 21..... so I got to thinking..... Martini Nikki seemed the best stamp to use on this occasion ;) And I've put a 21 on it but you may be able to see that I've written "in 1992" under the 21.... I hope she doesn't mind, lol TLT - Favourite Stamp Tuesday Throwdown - Birthday A Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy Birthday Passion for Promarkers - Divas with Glitter and Glam ICS - sketch Image - Martini Nikki, Numbers, Ladybug Crafts coloured with promarkers Cardstock and paper from stash Embellishments -ribbon from stash, pearls, Stampin Up, Icicle Stickles (in her martini glass) Tools - Scalloped square punch, Stampin Up, Martha Stewart Punch Hugs.Susan xxx

Foto Friday

What a lovely idea over at Lori's blog to share a photo.
This wasn't taken this Friday but it was on a Friday at a wedding and is a rare photo of the 4 of us. Hugs. Susan xxx

What a miserable day

Can't believe that the children are nearly at the end of their summer holidays and the weather is so rotten. It's like November not August. Oh as I type it actually looks like it *might* have stopped raining. Got friends coming tomorrow that we've not seen for a wee while so we're looking forward to that. (and I'm looking forward to offloading some of the boys' old toys and clothes for their wee boy....) For tonight, I'm going to go and get inky with my new Sugar :) This is the card I was commisioned to do for Debbie at work to give to her niece who starts school on Tuesday. I've used a digi stamp called Off to School Ava. Isn't she cute? Got another one of these to make for a friend to give to her grand-daughter so I'd best get busy on that too. My customer was very happy though so that's the main thing. Hope Jasmine likes her card when she gets it too.

Kachow

Been to see Cars 2 tonight with the children! Not as good as the first one I didn't think but they seemed to enjoy it so I guess that's the main thing. Now, what I really should be doing is completing a commissioned card to take to work tomorrow but I've used a digi image so I'm making sure the ink is dry on the card before I attack it with the promarkers! I said the other night I'd be back with a card for the LiM challenge but I wasn't happy with it. The challenge is to use the colours of your national flag which for me is obviously blue. The first picture I've used Night of Navy but it looked black so I tried again with Tempting Turquoise which shows up better but isn't entirely the colour of the St Andrews flag! A quick card

I meant to enter last night's card into the SN Facebook challenge which was to use punches. I had used a circle punch on the card deliberately too and when I posted it in FB I forgot to mention I wanted to enter it. D'oh. So I just *had* to make another card. This is it. Literally thrown together this evening while waiting on Andy coming back from Asda. I had coloured Fashionista in yesterday after my wee lesson with Cass and coloured her to go with my fave paper - Elegant Soiree. I found a few scraps and the card just came together. I finished it with a stamp from the Stampin Up Punches Three set (retired) and used the scalloped square punch to cut it out. And I've stuck a few wee pearls on her too. I *heart* this image :) You may see another few cards with her on. And hopefully the next photo won't be so blurry. Sorry about that. How can it be Tuesday already?!

It doesn't seem like a week since I sat here complaining that it was Tuesday! And here we are again. Tuesday (Sunday). Had a lovely afternoon today my friend Cass came round with her wee boy. The children all played together and Cass and I played with stamps and copics! And very enjoyable it was too, I don't think my colouring will ever be as good as Cass' but I can keep practising! Coloured this image under her guidance. We kept thinking of reasons why the girl is sad. I've thought of another one - maybe it's Tuesday and she has to go to work tomorrow ;) This is definitely. Definitely. My last entry into the Sugar Bowl. I don't know how Fiona and Cathy did 10 each!!! I'll be back tomorrow with a card for the Less is More challenge.

I'll need to go and lie down in a darkened room

Not only is this Sugar Bowl entry #4 - it has a butterfly on it! Well actually more than one.... very little pink though - just some on the paper. The card is kinda red. And, what is more, I actually quite like this stamp. I had borrowed it from a friend but I think I might need to have (yet another) Sugar fix sometime soon ;)

Sugar Bowl (again)

I am a mere beginner when it comes to entering this month's Sugar Bowl challenge. This is only my 3rd entry......Bloggy buddies Cathy and Fiona have entered 10, yes, 10!! cards each into the Sugar Bowl. There's been a wee bit of friendly rivalry going on in the SN Facebook group. All done in the best possible taste naturally. I think they're both a wee bit sketched out now so I think that might be it from them. I might do another with Hippy Chick. Maybe. Fabulous Friday

What a lovely day it's been today. Far too nice to be spending at work, lol! I was having an early night last night.... honest. And then I got chatting on Facebook to the SN girls and then decided I'd have another go at a card for the Sugar Bowl. If the entries to the SB reached 100 then the prize jumps from 4 SN stamps to 6! As it stands at the moment there are now 108! Shortly to be 109!! I also had ideas for another couple of cards but stupidly didn't write them down so I'm hopeful if I spend the evening away from the computer and FB then I'll remember. Maybe. So, I might be back later with more.... you just never know. The Sugar Bowl - sketch

Miracle day....

Multi tasking again. Blogging, catching up on Facebook and watching Captain Jack.... I'm not sure how much attention I'm paying to any of them. Now, I don't want you to faint here but I actually tidied up the pile of stuff at the side of my bed (well partially) but I can see the floor again and no, I didn't just move it to the bed. There's still some stuff in bags but it's stuff I've looked out for friends for their wee boy. Some old clothes and toys of Scott's. Going to have sneak the Thomas and Roary stuff out..... He doesn't watch them any more but don't think he likes the idea of giving Callum his toys! Made this card the the other night. No, I'll rephrase that I finished the card the other night. It's been a long time in it's production and another card that didn't quite turn out how I imagined. I wanted to use the plane from the Stampin Up Plane and Simple set (which you can see I've stamped on the card) but I was going to stamp it on shrink plastic and hang it from the aperture. Tried that. Looked hideous shrunk down!

I'd like to enter the card in the following challenges

CES - Feeling the Blues Paper Sundaes - Clouds and Skies Image - Aeroplane Fun, LotV. Plane and Simple, Stampin Up Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Stampin Up. Paper from stash Ink - Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Stampin Up Embellishments - Circle Nesties Tools - Big Shot Hugs.Susan xxx

If I stand on tip toes

I can almost see the weekend from here! I tidied the dining room table before I went to bed last night so that we could eat in the dining room for the first time in weeks. The only trouble is I threw lots of stuff in a box so before I could begin crafting I had to sort out the box! I've taken out the stuff I needed in a half hearted sort of fashion so it still needs sorting. I'm going to look for the lead for the camera tomorrow too cos I'm fed up with the photos on my phone. I'm saying this now but by the time I come home from work I probably won't be in the mood! The boys were at Heads of Ayr Farm Park today with the out of school care. They seem to have had a great day and it was a lovely day here so I think they got the best day for it. This is a wee card for the Sugar Nellie Facebook challenge the colour scheme for which is Orange and Yellow. Nice and summery and not pink!!!!!!! Isn't Jelly Pip just so cute?! I really need to get some more Pips.

I'd also like to enter the following challenges Creative Craft - Summertime Tuesday Throwdown - Summertime Image - Jelly Pip from Funky Kits coloured with promarkers Cardstock and paper from stash Embellishments - Bow from stash and Card Candy from Craftwork Cards Hugs.Susan xxx

Tuesday again
