Mike Joy is an announcer associated with NASCAR, and one of the NASCAR guest stars in the Milo Murphy's Law episode "Pace Makes Waste". He attends the Llama Race-O-Rama charity stock race as a color commentator in the skybox at the Danville Motor Speedway arena.
Personality[]
In "Pace Makes Waste", Mike Joy appears a bit eccentric, prone to wear his kaleidoscope goggles when commentating on the race. He's shown to also simply give up and quit when the racers have left the circuit, figuring there's no race to commentate on.
Physical Appearance[]
Mike Joy appears in the episode as a middle-aged man with black hair, a green shirt, and brown pants.
History[]
In "Pace Makes Waste", Mike Joy is seen sitting in the skybox, joined by Milo, Melissa and Zack (who get to sit there since Milo's parents have organized the Llama Race-O-Rama stock car race), as Rusty Wallace announces that Milo is chosen to ride along in the Safety Car, a pace car meant to lead the drivers for a warm-up lap. As Milo and Elliot ride in the Safety Car early by accident due to Murphy's Law shenanigans, Mike starts providing color commentary on the craziness, only to reveal he's wearing kaleidoscope goggles (although, after taking them off, he realizes that the race itself is also weird). As the Safety Car and the racers leave the stadium, however, Mike Joy figures he cannot commentate when there's no race to commentate on, and decides to quit the job and leave the skybox, leaving Zack and Melissa on their own to their dismay.
Quotes[]
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is crazy. It's bizarre, it's erratic, it's several other synonyms. I've never seen anything like this. Maybe it's because I'm wearing these crazy glasses. Whoa! The race is weird, too.” — Mike Joy[src] |
“Well, no cars, no blah-blah-blah.” — Mike Joy[src] |
“Oh. Excuse me, ma'am. By the way, you feel like a wall. You should have that checked.” — Mike Joy while wearing his goggles[src] |
