One or two can appear from an enemy encounter via a non-chest event in Lotus Lake during the Worried Explorer's first quest along with Doom Shield or a Gold Glyph.
This monster, and its other variants can unintentionally help the player's team by giving Mii characters the Excited effect.

Trivia[]
- The Rock Hopper's English name is based on the rockhopper penguin (referring to its vague, penguin-like appearance) and the pun involving the "rock" music genre, referring to its guitar.
- Despite being an enemy that mostly appears in the 1st District of New Lumos or Level 23-28 quests, it can appear in Level 50 quests in Citrus Cave.
- Humorously, when it and its variants are hit, their guitar will hit them on the head and interrupt its riff.
- Additionally, their "dancing" animation shows them bouncing on their guitar, like a pogo stick.
