Vaaran Expanse.

The Vaaran Expanse (also known as Vaara Expanse or Augment space in the 23rd century of the Kelvin timeline) is an area of space between the dead Suliban homeworld and the Klingon Empire.

History and specifics[]

The Vaaran Expanse was discovered in the late 2100s by scientist Charles Rainsford was stranded in this uncharted space due to a failed warp engine experiment. Upon his return, Federation authorities dismissed his findings as fraudulent, ruining his reputation. (ST video game: Fleet Command, Rainsford system lore)

In the Kelvin timeline, the Vaaran Expanse is claimed by the Augments faction under Khan. (ST video game: Fleet Command)

Background[]

While Fleet Command does not establish quadrant locations for game settings, the placement of the Vaaran Expanse near the "Borderlands" or "Triangle" regions where the Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire border the Federation strongly indicates that some or all of this area is in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, even though there isn't enough evidence to definitively state that for the purposes of this wiki.
