The USS Libby Curtis (NCC-6038) was a Federation starship, a Decker-class class X transwarp destroyer in Starfleet service in the 24th century.

Service history and disposition[]

Construction of this vessel was completed prior to ship commissioning on reference stardate 2/8710, in the 2340s decade, having been named for the noteworthy member of Starfleet, Libby Curtis.

The Libby Curtis remained in service by the year 2364. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)

Although there was no person named Libby Curtis mentioned in any other Star Trek releases, the class is noted to be named for influential figures in Starfleet history.
Although canon Star Trek never described the "transwarp drive" experiments of the late 23rd century as being successful upgrades, many ships in FASA RPG sources were described as transwarp vessels. This can be reconciled by assuming whatever upgrades took place became integrated in the warp drive capabilities seen in canon and as such, were not commonly mentioned, and perhaps were only marginally effective to the point they didn't bear mentioning. It is also possible that the advent of the transwarp fleet could be interpreted to represent a different continuity.
