The Thark-Morkol system was an unnamed star system located near the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. The system contained the homeworlds of the insectoid Tharkians and humanoid Morkolians.

History and specifics[]

It was located in the Tharkian sector, in unclaimed territory closer to the Klingon Empire than the Romulan Star Empire. (TOS comic: "Shell Game")

The Thark-Morkol system consisted of a primary G class yellow star and at least two planets, Thark and Morkol.

In the 2260s, Thark was at war with its neighboring planet Morkol.

During the 2260s, the Klingon Empire took control of Morkol, but their occupation force was driven out by a resistance movement in 2267.

In 2267, the Federation starship USS Enterprise battled a fleet of D7-class Klingon battlecruisers in the system. After the battle ended, James T. Kirk invited Thark to join the Federation. (TOS comic: "Spheres of War")
