The Starfleet Cultural Survey Bureau was an agency within the United Federation of Planets Starfleet branch, in operation by the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

By stardate 6720.8 they had developed the telescan cephalic implants with initial trial testing proving to be successful by the crew of the starship USS Enterprise on the planet Kyros. It was believed that the successful testing of the device would lead to widespread acceptance of the telescan implant for use as a routine survey tool. To oversee the operation, Sara George was sent on special assignment by Cultural Survey to evaluate the effectiveness of these implants as a survey tool. (TOS novel: Spock, Messiah!)
