Starbase 8 planet

An unnamed planet located in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant was the home of the Federation's Starbase 8.

History and specifics[]

The USS Enterprise visited here in the year 2273 after a mission to the moon Mycena. (TOS comic: "Experiment in Vengeance!")

The planet was illustrated with a blue ocean and rocky brown continents, possibly indicating Earth-like habitability. Since the Starbase 8 asteroid complex and the Starbase 8 space station were not shown, it could be inferred that Enterprise was in orbit to visit a planetside facility that was also part of Starbase 8. It is also possible that those other portions of the base were no longer in service and had been superseded by a land base, but that is entirely supposition.
