Remington was a 32nd century Human woman, the leader of the White Palm cartel and self-styled Chief Executive Officer of Starbase Vanguard in the 3180s decade.
Biography[]
Growing up, Remington suffered from the lawlessness rampant in the galaxy after the Burn decimated the Federation and warp drive-based spaceflight in the year 3069[1].
For fifteen years, starting in 3173, Remington worked steadily to amass power and resources.
In the 3180s, Remington controlled a fleet of pirates, notable for the white hand painted onto the black hulls of their raiders. The appearance earned Remington's cartel the name "White Palm".
Remington sought to control star systems and sectors to establish a semblance of order. She organised the White Palm into a quasi-military force. In 3186, they attacked and captured the Starfleet-operated Starbase 906, gaining access to Starfleet's research into transwarp tunnels. While the technology was unstable, it gave the White Palm an edge. Remington became base commander of what she called Starbase Vanguard, and assumed the title of chief executive officer.
By 3188, Remington was effectively in charge of the four sectors behind Starbase Vanguard, and 15 star systems. In that year, she ordered the White Palm to blockade the Atalis system to force Atalis IV into submission. Her efforts were foiled by the couriers Iliana Pa'Dan and Michael Burnham, whom Remington attempted to recruit later.
Following attacks on the courier network at Donatu VII and the former Federation Spaceport Devaloka, the couriers led a counterattack on Starbase Vanguard. Remington was deposed, Pa'Dan named base commander of the reinstated Starbase 906, and the White Palm dissolved. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)
