The Pevvni were a minority group within Eerlikka society, which opposed the overwhelming influence of Ganitriul, the artificial intelligence which controlled all automated systems and functions on the planet Eerlik. In 2326, the Pevvni broke away from Eerlik, and established a colony on the ninth planet of their star system.

In 2376, a small group of Pevvni, called Purists, sabotaged Ganitriul, as well as assassinating the clergy members who maintained the computer and the First Speaker of Eerlik, Ansed. (SCE eBook: Fatal Error)
