See Patel for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Dr. Patel was a 20th century human woman, a genetic engineer.

Biography[]

In the early 1970s of the Kelvin timeline, Patel joined the Bombay group school, a clandestine genetic engineering laboratory and school headed by Director G. Heisen in the Gobi Desert. She and Dr. Ketch oversaw development of the Bombay group of orphans as they were altered into Augments, in particular young Noonien.

Not long after an investor group visited in December 1979, Noonien escaped. Patel disbelieved that the boy could tunnel underground through solid rock, and thought the circumstances were catastrophic. But Heisen reassured her that Noonien was testing them, unaware that an implanted neural inhibitor could track and immobilize him before he got far.

In August 1985, the Augments surgically removed their inhibitors, then proceeded to kill everyone in the facility, including, presumably, Dr. Patel. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 1")
