Firewall is a mission within Star Trek Online. This storyline mission was published as part of the release of Season 24: Reflections on 14 September 2021. It is the first mission in the "Terran Gambit" story arc.

Summary[]

The faction leader informs the player character that Starfleet Intelligence has a very important prisoner, held at a secure facility. This person will only speak with the player, and the leader is inclined to accept S.I.'s request.

Kuumaarke mirror

Captain Kuumaarke steals intel.

The player arrives at Izar to find the Top Secret Research Facility at Izar, defended by intel starships led by Captain Othu from the USS Khonshu, under attack from contemporary Imperial Starfleet ships. After defeating them, an away team joins Commander Kyle DeSoto, previously of Starbase 39-Sierra[2], aboard the asteroid base space station. Terran officers have board the station. Led by DeSoto, the away team combats the Terrans and returns system to online status before moving to the brig for a conversation with the prisoner, Admiral Leeta of the mirror universe. She reveals that the Emperor of the Terran Empire is after a technology from the primary universe that will grant them more power.

The team proceeds to the engineering deck, where they find the Lukari officer Captain Kuumaarke stealing the SI database.

Khonshu mirror portal

The Khonshu opens a portal.

DeSoto boards the Khonshu while Leeta and the away team return to the player's ship. The Khonshu uses new technology to open a portal to the mirror universe and three ships travel through. The away team and Leeta board the Top Secret Research Facility (mirror) to recover the stolen data and fight their way through Terran defenders. In the agony chamber, Leeta identifies Kyle DeSoto (mirror), who is killed by the agony booth before he can reveal what the Emperor seeks. The team breaches the database center and recruit the Exocomp Legume Creel to help Leeta steal Terran data.

They return to their ships and fight a Terran fleet, destroying the ISS Brookhaven that shields Kuumaarke's ship, the ISS Reskava. The Reskava escapes and the Khitomer Alliance flotilla tries to return. However, the Reskava returns with reinforcements. DeSoto, now in command of the Khonshu, remains behind with the ship to allow the player's ship to escape back to the primary universe.

Back at Izar, Leeta advises to move the critical data somewhere more secure than the breached research facility. Meanwhile in the mirror universe, Kuumaarke is on the bridge of the Reskava and announces they have found in the data what the Emperor is looking for. She calls another Imperial officer to the bridge - the player character's mirror counterpart, who wears a curious gadget on the throat, glowing yellow.
