Chekov's Challenge

"Chekov's Challenge" is a TOS short story published in November 2024 in Star Trek: Explorer, Issue 13. It was written by Walter Koenig and Chris McAuley, and illustrated by Neil Edwards and John Paul-Bove. The story was collected in Titan Magazines' "A Year to the Day That I Saw Myself Die" and Other Stories omnibus in December 2024.

Background[]

The story took place in 2285, weeks after TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: The Wrath of Khan and shortly before "The Search for Spock". However, the stardate given seems inappropriate regarding the stardates provided in "The Wrath of Khan", which starts at stardate 8130.3.
The illustration depicted the Enterprise-A rather than the refit USS Enterprise featured in the story.
