Betelgeuse II was a Federation member planet in the Betelgeuse star system. It was one of three class M planets in the system and at one time had a Betelgeusian population. (Decipher RPG module: Aliens)

It was an underdeveloped world which faced an external crisis of the level faced by Yonada. (TOS novel: Mindshadow)

History[]

As the star Betelgeuse was entering a later stage of life, heading toward a supernova that would endanger worlds for parsecs around it, the Betelgeusians migrated out of the region, living on space stations and starships. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)

In 2270, during a conversation with Ambassador Sarek and Spock regarding non-interference, T'Pala cited Betelgeuse II and Yonada as examples of situations where external aid seemed necessary. She also cited Halcyon and Capella IV as worthy of Federation intervention. (TOS novel: Mindshadow)
