The Delta system was an inhabited planetary system in the Alpha Quadrant. It was a unary star system containing at least nine planets, including Delta IV, which was the homeworld of the Deltans. Another planet, Delta IX, was a destination for commercial transports in 2328. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture; TNG-R: "Inheritance")

A third planet, Delta V, was mentioned in lines that were cut from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Stellar cartography[]

In 2259, the system's location was labeled on a stellar cartography chart seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. The system's symbol had a blue color, which indicated that it had an affiliation with the United Federation of Planets. (SNW: "Spock Amok", "A Quality of Mercy")

In the early 24th century, the location of this system was labeled in a chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

The system's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. Delta was in neutral space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

In 3189, the location of Delta was denoted on a holographic star chart of the galaxy at Federation Headquarters. (DIS: "Die Trying")

In 3191, this system's location was labeled on a star chart. (DIS: "Red Directive")

This star system was only mentioned in writing.
The name of this system came from the source material used, the Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, to create the star charts seen in both Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard. According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 33; "United Federation of Planets I") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the primary of the Delta system was a F-class star.
The location of this star system was seen on the bridge of the SS Eleos XII on what appears to be an updated chart from Star Trek: Star Charts. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website.
