Multiple realities
(covers information from several alternate timelines)
Billie Holiday was one of the 20th century's greatest jazz singers and songwriters on Earth. One of the songs she sang was "Solitude". (PIC: "Broken Pieces")
In an alternate timeline, Alicia Travers enjoyed listening to Billie Holiday's music in her apartment in Brooklyn, New York. In 1944, the occupation of America by the Nazi and Na'kuhl alliance meant that all music made by black musicians, aka "colored music", was outlawed. However, Alicia and her neighbors would pass around a recording to each other, which included a Billie Holiday song called "My Old Flame". (ENT: "Storm Front")
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 341, the birth and death years of Billie Holiday were 1915 and 1959, respectively.
