For the science fiction writer, please see Isaac Asimov.

Captain Amasov was a 24th century Starfleet officer, who served as the commanding officer of the USS Endeavour during the 2360s. Amasov was known to both Kathryn Janeway and Chakotay.

At one point in his career Amasov had encountered the Borg, and had stated in his personal log that "It is my opinion that the Borg are as close to pure evil as any race we've ever encountered."

While preparing for USS Voyager's entrance into Borg space in late 2373, Captain Janeway researched Captains Amasov's and Jean-Luc Picard's logs of encounters with the Borg. When she read his log aloud to Chakotay, her first officer smiled and mused that she sounded just like Amasov, as she read it using his inflection, adding that "It's nothing to be ashamed about...echoing the Greats." Janeway later admitted that being alone in the Delta Quadrant caused her to look at these other captains, her "comrades in arms." (VOY: "Scorpion")
