Unlike a lot of other games in the series, Buffs/Debuffs apply to the party instead of the individual members in the party. In other words, members that are added to the party (through revival, summoning, Call Ally, etc.) will not have a different (de)buff level from the rest of the party.
Each kind of stat enhancement (-kaja), except Rakukaja, can stack up to 8 times.
On at least the SNES, PSX and GBA/iOS versions, Rakukaja can only stack up to 4 times.
Each kind of stat penalty (-nda) can stack up to 4 times.
