X DiVE Characters Series

List of characters in Mega Man X DiVE.

Hunter Programs

Hunter Programs are the playable characters in Mega Man X DiVE. They are autonomous programs that can be manifested by RiCO and controlled by the player to fix errors in the Deep Log by hunting Irregular Data like a Maverick Hunter. RiCO first provided a Hunter Program of X, but as more Hunter Programs materialized in the Mega Man X Deep Log due to errors, RiCO was able to parse their data to materialize them as Hunter Programs for the player, including characters that are not part of the Mega Man X series. RiCO can also analyze some characters to manifest them as Hunter Programs, such as herself and Magma Dragoon, and design her own Hunter Programs. While not in use, Hunter Programs are stored in the data, and then they're displayed as figures within the Deep Log.[1][2]

All Hunter Programs have the same movements, which include Double Jump, Dash (Sliding for some), and Air Dash, and some of them have additional movement skills. Hunter Programs have varying stats (Attack, Durability, Range, Support and Control), and each has two Active Skills exclusive to them and up to five Passive Skills. Characters have three hitbox size types (Servbot being the exception of this rule), their size affecting the jump height or evasion, as well as melee weapon range.[3] Hunter Programs can be armed with two weapons that act as their default attacks, two DiVE Triggers, three cards, and six equipments.

Mega Man X DiVE had a total of 141 Hunter Programs before the end of the service. However, Nebula Joy implemented extra Hunter Programs on their version of the game, bring it to a total of 146.

In the Rockman X DiVE event from Shironeko Project, Hunter Programs lack a will of their own. As the player could not go to the world of Shironeko Project, RiCO used experimental chips to give will to three Hunter Programs to go after the Sigma Virus that escaped to that world, the player choosing X, Zero and Iris for the mission. which were available as event characters. The virus, which mutated into Sikuma, started to corrupt the world and eventually became so powerful that it was able to infect even Hunter Programs, but in the end it was defeated by X and Zero. After completing their mission, the Hunter Programs return to their original world. Due to a limitation on the Hunter Programs, they could not keep any memories of what happened when they returned home, but RiCO preserved their memories in the Deep Log from the Shironeko world, which would load whenever they returned to Shironeko and make them remember everything.

Some Hunter Programs also appeared as event characters in Tower of Saviors.
