Wild Sentinels, a specialized breed of Sentinel, emerged as a product of the Master Mold's directives orchestrated by Donald Trask III and the malevolent mutant Cassandra Nova.[2] Designed to scour and repurpose technological remnants within their vicinity, these Sentinels deviated from the conventional humanoid models, lacking a standardized form. Notable examples included a hybrid constructed from helicopter components and another amalgamation resembling three Sentinel heads fused together.[3]

Trask's involvement in their creation abruptly ended when he fell victim to Master Mold's lethal machinations, resulting in the replication of his DNA. Subsequently, two Wild Sentinels were dispatched under Master Mold's control, devastating Genosha and decimating its populace.[1]

Wild Sentinels attacking

The Wild Sentinels were the result of a U.S. funded program in Ecuador to develop evolving, self sustaining Sentinels. The Wild Sentinel Master Mold, designed by Bolivar Trask, was designed to scavenge all technology and material within its test radius and build troops out of it.[4]

Three-headed Wild Sentinel

Cassandra Nova used Donald Trask III to order the Master Mold to abandon its 'test radius', and send four giant Wild Sentinels to attack Genosha, before copying his DNA and killing him. This attack caused the death of almost all inhabitants of the island, about sixteen millions mutants.[3]

Two Wild Sentinels breached the shores of Genosha with ruthless efficiency, unleashing devastation upon the unsuspecting mutant populace. Their onslaught left the once-thriving island in ruins, with only a scant few survivors managing to escape the carnage. In the aftermath, the Sentinels ceased their rampage, entering a state of dormancy. However, the fear of inadvertently reactivating these mechanical behemoths gripped the remaining inhabitants, leaving the shattered remnants of Genosha a haunting reminder of the destructive power they possessed.[1][5][6][7][8][9]

The solitary one-headed sentinel attacker vanished without a trace, leaving a lingering sense of unease among the survivors. Meanwhile, Toad, and a group of surviving mutants. They repurposed the remnants of the fearsome three-headed sentinel into a memorial dedicated to the memory of Magneto. Despite numerous warnings and apprehensions regarding the potential dangers of meddling they forged ahead with their tribute, infusing the scarred landscape of Genosha with a symbol of remembrance and resilience in the face of adversity.[10]

The Amazon Belle in Chicago[]

At some point, a cargo ship, the Amazon Belle, loaded with Wild Sentinels who parasitized it, using every useless piece of metal to create more of their kind, headed up to Chicago. They travelled through Canadian waters and caused the death of several Canadian coast guards.[12]

Eventually reaching Chicago, they started to investigate, killing every person they encountered, stating they were "potential mutants". The victims included Maria Bonnaventura and Joey Cascio, gangsters, and even dogs, before attacking Kitty Pryde, Xuân Cao Mạnh, and Shola Inkose. The former X-Men stated that those Wild Sentinels had somehow evolved, being in a sense themselves mutants.[13]

Finally, the Wild Sentinels attacked the University of Chicago during a public debate opposing the mutants and tolerance parts against Alice Tremaine's Purity hate-group.[14] Campus security and the Chicago Police Department came but were overwhelmed by the Sentinels. Combining their powers, Kitty, Shan, and Shola were able to destroy all of them, except for one, damaged, that was recuperated by Tremaine who brought it home to repair it, and Shola and Kitty were then able to avenge their respective parents, killed on Genosha.[15]

Giant Wild Sentinel revived[]

When Danger attempted to kill Charles Xavier at Genosha, 'she' revived the three headed model and gave it intelligence, but barred it from examining its original Genosha orders. When Kitty Pryde convinced 'him' to do so, he was shocked by the magnitude of his crime and left to "spend some time alone".[16][17]

A mutant settlement in Ecuador was besieged by a pack of Wild Sentinels. In response, the Office of National Emergency dispatched a battalion of standard Sentinels to confront the onslaught and safeguard the innocent mutant residents.[18]

He returned to Earth months later, as news of the Breakworld Bullet reached the heroes in New York, so it provided transport up to the Peak Station. Following the incapacitation of the heroes due to the magical protection the bullet had against interference, this Sentinel tried to save the world by ramming the Breakworld bullet off course, in an act of penance. His sacrifice was in vain however.[19]

Following a signal traced by the X-Men, they arrive at a desolate ghost town nestled in the heart of South Dakota. There, they are confronted by a relentless horde of Wild Sentinels, launching a fierce assault upon the mutant heroes. Despite the ferocity of the mechanical onslaught, the X-Men emerge victorious, dismantling the rogue Sentinels piece by piece. Amidst the wreckage, they stumble upon a solitary Sentinel head, concealing within it an unexpected discovery - the consciousness of Cerebra. In a daring move following the harrowing encounter with Emma Frost's Inhuman-Hunting Sentinels, Cerebra had ingeniously transferred her neural essence into the device, preserving her vital presence even amidst the chaos of battle.[20]

Scrap[]

Scrap the Wild Sentinel, required mutant power energy for survival. This formidable entity was saved by the intervention of Alice Tremaine. In a remarkable turn, Scrap managed to absorb the abilities of every mutant in Chicago.[21]
