History

The Powerprison 170 is one of the weapons designed by Moses Magnum to be sold in the open marked, with catalog number MM1313170. Although the cell generated the impression of energy bars with space between them, it really contained everything even between the bars.[1]

The Powerprison is a portable, fast-deploying energy cage, that has self-sealing capabilities and is strong enough to keep the superpowered Avengers imprisoned, at least for a short amount of time. It was confirmed to block microwaves-bursts shot by Firestar. The cell's coherence can be controlled using other Magnum technologies, including Power-Podium 310, which provides a dashboard.[1]

When Magnum's private army the Magnum Shells staged an attack on passenger planes in the John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Avengers tried to stop them, and then the Shells used the Powerprison to capture the Avengers. The Podium was then sabotaged by Triathlon, another superhero joining the fight, and the cell stopped working. The Shells were defeated, but they were really just a distraction for Magnum's real plan.[1]
