History
As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by chemicals that also greatly enhanced his other senses.[3] As an adult, Murdock works as lawyer fighting for justice in the courts by day, but at night he acts as the vigilante Daredevil, using his super senses and combat skills to fight crime in Hell's Kitchen.[4] Once his secret identity was reveled to the public, Murdock faked his death and continued to act as Daredevil in a new armored costume.[5]
Murdock eventually took a trip to Japan and came back to the United States of America a changed man. Murdock began to lead the Hand, hoping to use them for good. As the Hand's leader, Murdock built Shadowland in Hell's Kitchen and became possessed by the Beast of the Hand. Once Murdock's fellow heroes learned of Murdock's possession, the battled and defeated Murdock, remove the Beast's control over him.[6]
Murdock eventually came into conflict with both the Punisher and his old girlfriend Elektra.[7] Later, he briefly lived in San Francisco before returning to Hell's Kitchen.[8]
